Could put it over the top. A few months ago, a saw a very nice African American family walking down my block. They had a dog. Just like white people who have dogs. So that was nice. They nodded at me and went on their way, minding their own business. I nodded in return. That moment seemed to bridge the racial divide. I enjoyed it and felt very cosmopolitan. I don't think they actually LIVE on my street for I have never seen them again and there are absolutely NO BARREL GRILLS ON ANY PORCHES HERE. But they could live NEARBY and I think that's just swell. It would be nice to have the opportunity to nod at them again this coming summer.
