It's almost kind of sad when you think about it. Larry King and Regis Philbin had to be dragged off the air kicking and screaming. Why not have enough self awareness to know your time has come and gone? They could have all taken a lesson from Walter Cronkite. He retired without being asked to leave. He and his wife spent his retirement years playing tennis, doting on their grandchildren and sailing around the world on his sailboat/yacht enjoying life.

Actually, back then, CBS had a policy of mandatory retirement at age 65 for its employees. Cronkite had no choice but to leave. If not for that policy, he probably would have been on the air until the end of time, too.

The Oscar routine was that presenters would pre-tape the reading of the nominees' names, and the audio was edited into the film clips as one long continuous take. Then the presenter would open the envelope and read the name of the winner live. When Bette was asked to pre-tape, she supposedly replied, "I have never done things that way, and I never will." And the producer and director foolishly ALLOWED her to try to read the names in time with the clips -- on live TV! The results were horrible, as you can see. Bette appeared on Entertainment Tonight the following day, reading the names of the nominees from a piece of paper, to prove that she wasn't losing it. Ethier that or she is just to stoned to give a fuck. From 1 stoner to another I can tell she is stoned alot of the time. Still I don't blame her, having to listen to the shit that comes out of those bitches mouths must drive you to the wacky tabacie. Did anyone see Barbra this Monday morning? She had the JBF look happening (Just been fucked). Her hair was all over the place with a mind of it's own. Also the bitch was wearing a black suit, She looked like she was dressed for a funeral. It must be hard when you realise you have more years behind you than in front. Still, she could have another 15 years if she is lucky.

She seems to think that dressing up is looking like a struggling middle class person instead of the usual bum. The only time she actually dressed up is when she hosted the Oscars and the producers told her to.

There's no point in critiquing her fashion sense because she doesn't have any, nor any plans to develop some in the near future. Saw Lizzy and Joy go at it over Romney - some day someone is going to slap the face off that girl. It wasn't today, but...soon.
