They paraded JJ around promising the dullard masses that the show was a procedural so that the CBS crowd could understand it. However, it fairly quickly became highly serialized with one of the best mythologies of any show I've seen. I expect this to follow suit if it makes it long enough.

It is a lot to swallow, better to leave people wanting more. Also how penis centric is this show going to be? Every person who comes back will be a male because both the guards and the prisoners were male. We have the stereotypical blond female cop as the lead, who did a great job, and the female lab tech. The rest of the cast is men. That could get old.
