She made a big blunder in not booting Jonathan over Jenny but otherwise she played a solid game.

She stayed close to the hip with him for too long. Courtney and Sandra liked her. She could have formed some mini alliance with them and she would have been viewed in a different light. She should have dropped the troll after the first few tribals. She does that early on then she has a better chance at winning the endgame.

I think his exact phrasing was that it was "to keep our stars around."

Parvati was the primary target for everyone in the game. The only people that wasn't true for are Russell (at least until the end) and Danielle. The entire Heroes tribe tried to vote her out with an idol before the merge. The Villains were all terrified of her preshow relationships. She should have voted out her intensely loyal sidekicks early premerge based on the premise that she would lose in the finals due to her association with them a month down the line? Really?

Not to mention she only lost because she was going up against Sandra. Replace Sandra with Danielle, like she intended, and Parvati wins 100% of the time. And Danielle only got voted out due to a tribal council breakdown, which was impossible for anyone to control (other than Danielle herself) or plan for.

Sandra didn't have her HII with her at Tribal that night because she left it at camp, but she has said in interviews that if she had had it, then she would definitely have played it on Danielle.. imagine the look on Russell's face.)

Yes, Redemption Island was put in place so that their "stars" had a chance to stay around longer. The key word being chance. Russell went to RI and was beaten right away. Ozzy went to RI and worked his way back in the game. As far as the HI goes, it was hidden low in a tree that was easily accesible to anyone on the Savaii tribe (except maybe Papa Bear and Dawn). Once Ozzy found it he hid it high in the tree where only he could get it.

Oh my god I would have loved Sandra so hard if she had done that. Only Sandra would be crazy enough to go to F7 TC without individual immunity and leave her HII at camp.

I agree to an extent. IMO the part that interferes with the formula of the game is the casting of the All-Star/Returnee seasons. I wouldn't call Amber or Parvati All-Stars based on their initial seasons. But they're mactresses who got opportunities ahead of more memorable players like Twila or Helen, or better players like Kelly W or Vecepia. Also, since many returning players establish friendhsips/cliques outside the game, many alliances are determined before the game even starts. So it's not a level playing field. Outsiders like Yau-man, Tom or Randy never stood a chance. So this leads me to this unpopular survivor opinion: All-Star seasons suck. They should be treated more like exhibitions, and the results shouldn't be taken as seriously as those of regular seasons.
