Back when if you were to search something you could effectively get basically all of which the web provides rather than a narrow choice set up by your country>region >language etc. In fact this new programming, (filter) could be considered censorship built into the current design. Pulling up a search was amazing where all the counties were all represented in one pot rather than it being efficiently sorted out for you. I thought that represented the internet much better than it does today. By making things simpler we are leaving out quite a large chunk of available knowledge Perhaps there will be a day when a true meta-search engine will be created and you will be capable of creating you own parameters rather than being restricted like we are. And in some way, we are going backwards instead of forward with our current web search process. (google bing yahoo)
