I think Justin has a really good voice although not as strong/powerful as it seemed back in the day.

Back during his season I thought he was really amazing but in watching old idol performances again his voice is rather weak and thin. I think most of his appeal is his undeniable charisma. The boy has that certain something that's for sure.

So happy to hear Justin is recording new music. I love his lower register, it is different from his Idol days. I hope he releases Missing You that was such a beautiful song as well as Everlasting that he wrote for the Project Everlasting DVD.

^^ Justin's voice is subtle in many ways, perfect for jazz. He sings like a dream. He just doesn't scream like a diva so diva-lovers don't "get it." Still his voice is strong enough for the Broadway stage, so its deceptive how strong it really isis. He's a unique guy, and his charisma IS crazy strong which is why he was such a huge hit on AI1.

Still his voice is strong enough for the Broadway stage,

I have seen a few Broadway shows and can say without a doubt you need to have a strong voice if you are performing on Broadway, those are some of the best voices.

My former co worker's husband worked in Philly and knew Justin and said he was a good kid but that was years ago.

I saw Justin locally in Chicago and his voice is much stronger now and far more powerful - must be taking lessons. He was really impressive as Billy Flynn and in some ways it was a much better part than the one he had in WOTVOANB because he actually sang. Even my not-a-fan husband thought he and the actress who played Roxie were terrific and ready for Broadway. Unfortunately the same couldn't be said for 'Velma' and the one scene I was really looking forward to "Cell Block Tango" fell flat. But 'Billy' and 'Roxie' made up for it in "They Both Reached For The Gun" and it was the the show standout.

I haven't heard anything from him and was only referring to how he sounded during the show 10 years ago (which I have on DVD). good to hear that he's improved since Idol.

This is a post about that performance at Joe's Pub, by Justin's colleagues on the Broadway circuit, and folks in the audience at the show. I had to say that because I know it seems like I wrote this ... lol. But no, this is whole new group of people who have discovered the magic of Justin. I think this was the general reaction from AI watchers too that first season. :).

Listen, you guys. You have to watch this video. Do yourself a favor and just push play.

But first¦ you might want to go take your birth control.

Because Justin Guarini's performance of Drew Gasparini's "Good Stuff" is so hot, you might get knocked up just watching it. Guarini made sweet, dirty love to the entire audience at Joe's Pub on Monday night. And it was glorious. I needed a cigarette after that performance. Several fellow audience members told us they suspect they are, well, expecting.

We are basically in love with Guarini now. He wormed a hole in our hearts back during is American Idol days, and impressed us with his performances in Women on The Verge of a Nervous Breakdown and American Idiot on Broadway in the past couple of years. But this really sealed the deal. Because clearly, Justin Guarini never, ever phones it in. And we adore that about him.

Plus. He can sang.

Hot spot NYC pub where many musicians and B'way folk perform, introduce their music. Not big, but respected.

Liked the performance, and the crowd participation was fun, so I checked out some other YT vids. He's very skilled. Tremendously beautiful tone and character when singing quieter more lyrical songs.

First he's at the pub, now he's in the attic! lol. Actually Eddie's Attic is a hot nightclub in Atlanta (and the Joe's Pub is an insider's venue for Broadway folk).

This is a throwback to the way Broadway shows used to be put together.
The actors/musicians would hit the local hotspots to try out the songs and comedy bits to see what worked and what didn't. Fun!
