I caught a bit of that Re-Modeled show, and there was this one girl who not a few days earlier was working at some yogurt shop in New Mexico, and then she ended up at New York Fashion Week. Or something like that. Which only goes to show how much of a failure Miss Tyra's attempt to democratize the modeling industry is, and it also shows how little influence Miss Tyra really had to begin with. It seems like, at least in the States, the really successful models are the ones who simply get discovered out of thin air. One day she could be doing the ho stroll on 42nd Street in New York high as fuck, and not 24 hours later, she'll end up strolling down the catwalk in a high fashion evening gown. I could be wrong, but I doubt that any of the hundreds of women who've been on ANTM over the past nine years were ever spotted by a legitimate talent scout beforehand. Even the ones with "experience".
