I forgot what day I was supposed to go back, so I returned my rent a car a day early, and had to walk to a near by hotel and spent the very last day in a hotel room watching movies. I could have done that at home. Hopefully at least the one half day was fun. I think I will stick with planning it out.

Great. You are one of the few people I expected to give a good suggestion.

r, I'm gonna suggest it anyways. Go to the Grand Canyon and then follow it up with Lake Tahoe!
September is just not a great time for mountains in the north east. It is probably cheap. But not a lot to do. Water sports are all packed up and closed. No snow. No leaves turning yet. You should just go to the beach. Do you golf?

I thought Colonial Williamsburg was boring as hell, but there are some great restaurants in that little town. http://www.colonialwilliamsburg.com/visit/hotels/williamsburgInn/index.cfm I know there is golf around there too. Do not stay in the "Providence Hall" section. It is separate from the Inn, but it looked a little run down. The Inn was fabulous and beautiful.
