The fake ass dramatic bitch produces some nice dresses but come on. They are neither innovative nor fashion forward. It just so happens everyone else produces mediocre crap. Even the first episode designs were epically boring. It was the weird materials challenge and people used items easily used as material replacements.

The rest do their wheelhouse... and do stuff that generally could be found on any rack except a model's.

I've pretty much liked all of them; everyone else has produced at least one complete disaster, and has been really boring.

The overabundance of single day and six-hour challenges is making the show suck.

I do like Mila with the best of them, but really... I actually thought that look was quite interesting from a design perspective. And if that's her worst look, then compare it to the worst looks done by all the other designers so far, and you see what I mean. Even designers who've been consistently in the top (Rami, Mondo, Michael), have sent some pretty awful (or just really, really boring) stuff down the runway.

In the workroom is way overlit, and on the runway it's lit completely differently - because they have old judges who need to be lit a certain way. I imagine the time constraints have to do with how much time they were able to get the judges for, but for an All Star season I'd love to have seen the best of the best, not arts and crafts 101 again. It's one thing to take up and comers and force them to think outside the box - it's another to have people who are already somewhat established in their field have to do these jokey challenges. That thing Mondo created was the most literal interpretation of a challenge I think I've ever seen. And Michael's dress was not fashion forward in the slightest, it was just what he is best at on short notice - draping. All this is showing so far is who is best at what on extremely short notice - sewing skills, design, or draping, not who makes the best fashionable look.

First three boots were good but they still have to get rid of Jerrell, Mila, Anthony, and yes, Kenley. I get that she's inflexible and humorless (part of why I find her amusing, actually). But I've enjoyed her comments this season and she had some fun moments, especially with Maya, on season 7. Work-wise, I think her construction skills have been generally good. Her fashion might not be everybody's taste (maybe blocking/mod look seems dated to people, I dunno) but I think it's always interesting and eye-catching. I find it pretty and also compelling in a mathematical way. Among the All-Stars cast, she has one of the best placements in her original season. She's also not faring poorly this season. I don't get the Mila antipathy and I'm worried that I'm missing something. I'm rooting for her to survive the current vagicide, even maybe to place third again.

She is very good at was she does, and her forays into colour usually go awry (the make-your-own-print challenge from S7). I don't know much about fashion, but I would imagine that blocking leaves a lot less room for error than drapery. I hope she lasts for a while.
