Kim J is mostly boring and irrelevant. And the only times she's relevant are when everyone's talking about how useless she is. Still - she's the best part of Boran and I know in.advance that she's the only person that I won't despise come final 4.

The only one I liked was Frank, but even he was novelty more than anything. Like when he got voted off I was like ''Yeah, I guess it's his time...yawn'' And he was my favorite.-_-

It was a nice break from the MORPPP love fests that were Australia and Maraqueas (not that I dislike Maraqueas)

When I rewatched Africa last year (the rewatch that I assume "inspired" this thread) I was shocked at what a weak follower she was. She was a simpering, enabling yes-woman happily marching to her doom who caught a few immunity challenges and then gave a very half-hearted jury performance. It's like she was apologetic that she outlasted all the good ole boys she spent the entire game shamelessly rimming. I thought I liked her way more than I did just because she was by far the best person in the F4 but no, I don't like her, I just hate them so, so much. And while I appreciate that Kim J. is such an adorably Rolo person to like (kind of chilly, intelligent older woman), she just isn't my flavor.

I feel like to love Teresa, who was a sweet but subdued character, you have to appreciate her attempts to claw her way further in the game. I did and she had a couple of good episodes, but I just couldn't ignore the fact that she got herself in that position by being eagerly retaliatory earlier in the game. Like if you intentionally shoot yourself in the foot and then attempt to drag yourself thirty miles through dense forest to a hospital, is it a story of survival against all odds or is it a cautionary tale about being a dumbass? Dunno. I have mixed feelings about her. She was so much better than everyone left when she went though.

I was nervous when I entered the Africa era that I would tread on you and intentionally have tried not to and then when I went looking for your thread to see your legendary women chart, I noticed my ep 3 (2?) write-up was basically yours plus paint writing. I then had a conniption and pondered skipping on to Marquesas. Sry to tread on u. w/r/t/ Kim J, I understand the criticisms but kind of like Edna or Katie I give sympathy because there weren't a lot of options. She had to cling on for dear life in the pre-merge and then in the post-merge if she flipped the entire Boran Boys alliance would vote uniformly against her, so she was kind of doomed to second place. I'm most looking forward to Thailand because I remember almost nothing about it and can't bring myself to rewatch on my own.

Was she even playing? I'm waiting until I rewatch to form a solid opinion on her, but if I do like her it's despite her strategic game not because of it. I don't even think she should have flipped necessarily, but if you can't work yourself up the totem pole and are on the outs, you deserve it. If you, by some miracle, immunity whore your way to the finals but don't even take the right person with you and didn't make the social connections to win...you suck.

I think ultimately though, she just didn't have much conviction and I don't think her heart was really in it. Like, I can't see her scrambling like Edna did and I can't see her with passionate tears at ftc like Katie. So, I think she was more of a good character that had occasional strategic moments. But don't look at her strategic game or you won't like her. Like the reverse of Sugar maybe? idk

She entirely amounts to nothing for the majority of her stay, then randomly breaks out with...mild N spv. She never actually really does anything herself, other than like fake sucking up to the majority, which I'm sure you will appreciate, but overall...it's a stretch to fame her as anything more than I mild irritant in her last few episodes. I'm most excited for your take on HELEN during Thailand, because I have no doubt you will fall head over heels. She's just SO neurotic and dour and glamorous. <3

Remove this ad What shocked me about Episode 5 and Silas' boot is that it seemed like all of Boran would have been down to boot Clarence? At least, that's how Ethan and Kim J made it seem and if that were the case, then it was extremely stupid for Teresa and Frank to not agree to it. If all of the Mall Rats made it to the merge intact, Teresa and Frank would have been in the best position with options to boot whoever they wanted. To put themselves at the mercy of Boran was just so stupid. But also, the reason that I love Samburu <3 I realize it's sort of hypocritical to love certain people (i.e: all of the members of Samburu) for being such a trainwreck and then dislike Kim J for not doing enough for her game but I think for this season, I needed Kim J to be more than she was to prevent Boran Boy domination and she just wasn't so even while I don't hate her at all, I just can't love her either.
