I don't know if car insurance rates and policies are different province to province but I'm pretty sure it's 7 years for an accident that is your fault to come off your record.

I did a quote for Desjardins Insurance the other day and they wanted to know the last 10 YEARS of accidents. I was like WTF? Not fair.

1676? Ouch that is a lot of money to come out at once. I guessed correctly, yay!

So Carly is going to be represented/managed by the same guy that does Justin? That's pretty cool. and I guess this means she is getting a U.S. album deal too. I could see Call Me Maybe doing well in the states if they have the right money backing the song.

I also learned about another bill the conservatives are trying to pass, it's Bill C-30. Apparently, it gives police the right to go to your ISP and get all information on you without you knowing and without getting a warrant. They are posing this bill as to fight child porn but it gives the police and government way more power than just that and it allows police to collect stuff like your credit card transactions or your phone records and other stuff that you'd have to get a warrant/reason to do so before.

People are freaking out about it. It's a seperate bill from Bill C-11 which is the bill we were talking about a few weeks ago that is about the Internet piracy stuff and blocking a lot of Internet websites etc.

I guess all these Internet bills are going to pass since they have a majority.

Bill C-30 sounds even more messed up than C-11. I guess the last line of defense is the Supreme Court. They should be able to find it entirely unconstitutional pretty easily. Assuming the judge(s) aren't in the back pockets of the Conservatives somehow. What I want to know is how a law or a bill ends up being challenged in the Supreme Court in the first place. Does somebody in government have to be the plaintiff?

This is why Ron Paul is doing so well (for him, anyway) state side. He's vehemently against this sort of stuff and has been for years.

A majority is meaningless if you have enough of your own people worried about pissing off their constituents. I don't know if that is the case here but its controversial enough and people have been spamming the fuck out of the MPs about this.

I only got a response from the NDP, figures. The NDP is of course against it, but that doesn't help.

I don't know how the Supreme court works or how bills end up there. I should have payed more attention in school. lol.

I don't think Stephen Harper is bothered with some of his party not being comfortable with the bills. From what I've gathered about Harper, is that he doesn't give a shit about pandering to the public very much. He's really cut and dry and now that he has a large majority, he is willing to go all out to pass the stuff he wants to.

There has been some stink about the bills but not nearly as much as Americans did with their own Internet legislation that got overturned.

I think most Canadians are pretty clueless about these bills. I am surprised that ISPs like Bell or Rogers aren't doing awareness campaigns to get the word out.

I do security part-time and there was an ad last month for someone to be a "piracy" security specialist. Without thinking, I thought I'd be suitable because I also have a computer background. I almost turned into "the man" because of mental pause.

Bieber has ulterior motives for the signing. Not only does he love Jepsen (as girlfriend Selena Gomez pointed out in January), but he also wants to break more Canadian artists worldwide. Considering his huge, rabid fanbase will pretty much do anything he says, this should be pretty easy.

It's like Biebs is Captain Canada and leading the charge to world domination.

I absolutely cannot hate the little fucker anymore. Every time I read something about him it just makes me love him more. Yesterday I was reading about how for Valentine's Day he flew a little 6 year old girl with cancer out to meet him and spent the day with her and she said it was the best day of her life. He's just such a wonderful person. Who knew you'd ever be able to say if the world had more Justin Beibers it would be a better place.

I'm fucking stoked for Carly too. I knew since I saw her Canadian Idol audition that she was meant to be a star. She's a legitimate talent and I'll be so happy if Beiber's predictions come true and she does blow up. Make it happen! "Call Me Maybe" could totally smash in the U.S. with the right promo. It really is the best pop song out there. She's such a talented writer and her voice is awesome too.

Yeah, jealous as I am of the fact Selena Gomez is his girlfriend, I hate his fans more than I hate him. Though I still think he's trying too hard to be "gangster" with his earrings and hand gestures and general way of speaking. White guys trying to act black is so last decade.

The story with the girl was really nice.

I'd like to toot my own horn and say I was ALWAYS a Justin Bieber fan. I remember buying his "My World 2.0" c.d. at Wal Mart when it came out.

I fell in love with "Somebody to Love" which is a kick ass song on the album.

People always hate Justin but I guess that comes with his success and territory. I still wanna drive to Stratford, ON and drive by his house. Super Creepy, yes but I have no other reasons to do it other than I'm a freak :)

I was looking for tickets to his holiday show he did in Toronto at X Mas time but it was all sold out. It's probably best I didn't go to a Justin Bieber concert since I'd probably look like some kind of paedo around 6-15 year old girls.

and yes, white people acting black is sooo last decade. I had a white guy try to do that weird handshake and body touching that guys in the rap world do and I was like wtf are you doing? I just stood there. Laugh

I've always found it a little funny how parliamentarians always have to go through "Mr. Speaker" to insult each other. But I suppose if they were allowed to speak to each other directly, it would be a complete shitshow.

The scandalous twitter feed is exhibit A of why governments want full control of the internet.

Jennifer Aniston's house would be awesome. When I was in Hollywood we never did any of those tours, the closest we got was when we picked up one of the souvenir maps that showed all the famous or notable houses.

Vic Toews is just ugh. I saw him on t.v. saying if you are against the bill that you are with child pornographers. He doesn't seem too bright from the clips I've seen of him but perhaps it's nerves.

To be fair to Toews, I doubt not reading bills is a problem exclusive to him or his party.

Seriously, I said it when I tried to read C-11, that shit is dry. And a million pages long. I wouldn't be surprised to find people of all parties who have only a basic understanding of what it is they're debating.

So it begs the question...who the hell actually WRITES these fucking things?

I wish Anna and Kristina could be two of the cast members. I know at least the latter lives in Vancouver.
