I thought Melissa was one of the most underrated contestants in her season. She never had a bad performance. Even when she forgot the lyrics to "Lately", she still did a good job with the vocals. I still watch "Why Haven't I Heard from You?" sometimes.

She, Bucky, and Elliott were basically the odd ones out that season. That they all made the finals was amazing. I wish Melissa had made it a little further (especially considering how bad Lisa, Mandisa, Ace, etc. were most of the time in the finals), but at least she did leave on a good note. Too bad she hasn't had more of a career.
