When the best player wins the F3 IC, takes a goat to the F2 and wins, that's a clearly deserving win. But in terms of F2 seasons, this one was the 8th time that the F3 IC winner got to pick his/her opponent in the F2 and lost anyway. In 6 of the 8 cases, I think the F3 IC winner loses no matter what. But when that happens, the winner becomes the LESS deserving player, because the F3 IC winner will still take the weaker opponent to the F2.

F3 produces more deserving winners, I think -- but I'm not sure that makes better television because it is predictable. The F2 means that there is suspense right up to the end, because the F3 IC throws a wrench into everything.
