Older people have proved they can outlast, but usually fall short when seated next to younger opponents. Kim Johnson, Clay, Lill, Twila, and Cassandra show that while middle aged winners may be rare, middle aged runner ups are not. So you have this dichotomy of the middle aged goats losing in the front of the jury, while the old people with a shot at winning get cut at the very end: Rudy, Kathy, Jan, Scout, Terry, Yau-Man, Denise, and now Cirie (not 40 yet, but close enough). The old goats don't win, and the old jury threats don't make it.
