My daughter could not wear berkinstocks (or any leather sandals for that matter) without clearing the room. We were flying to Greece once, she took off her shoes, and I was livid at the lady in front of us. Thought she needed to change her kids diaper or something, looked down and realized the kid had taken off her shoes. It was horrible.

That being said, her feet never stink in sneakers or heels, just those damn leather sandals. So maybe it could be the shoes as well as some foot issues? I use deodrant on my feet in the summer to help with sweaty feet. Silly as it sounds, it works! lol
