I'm not a fan of garage-ons either. I'm not sure I could take living in a house attached to another one, but lots of my friends prefer them because
they tend to have small yards that do not require lots of work and they are cheaper per sq ft here. What if you buy and your neighbour is a noisy asshole? You
can't just leave when the lease is up.
I like the outside of the one with the balcony because I could completely see my cats playing on it :)
I never, ever worry about resale value. I buy houses to live in and do not view them as investments. I am essentially looking for fixed rent and a place where I can have all the pets that I want. The fact that I walk away with equity is just a bonus.
