I'm not ashamed to admit that it was my favorite show as a kid and still is now that I'm a full-blown adult. Completely surreal take on suburbia. I
think the show is awesome. It's the one show I'll admit to being a complete dork over.
My favorite episode is "New Years Pete", which is the only ep that Little Pete narrates instead of Big Pete. It has Frank the crossing guard who never leaves his post and Pete is saving up for a Jet-pack so he can change the world.
As for the DVD's, the video quality is pretty bad, but not unbearable. I think Season 2 has commentaries with Artie and Little Pete on it.
