Episode 6: "I've Got Something In My Pocket For You"

Previously On Survivor…

Eve returned from tribal council livid over Kym's elimination, and struggled for a way to stay in the game. She found a way when her tribe lost immunity and she shockingly volunteered to go to Exile Island to find the hidden immunity idol. Meanwhile, Echira enjoyed their feast and used the time for a temporary unification. However, the next day, things got right back down to business when Leon and Sherry began to worry about Shelby jumping ship and voting with the original Echira members, John, Rosie, and Heather. At Exile Island, Eve found the idol and planned on using it as leverage to stay in the game. At the immunity challenge, Rosie cost the Echira tribe immunity, and she was Leon's target at tribal council, while John was targeting the lazy Mike. Shelby was the swing vote at tribal council, and made it clear that she was making her decision based on what would suit her best in the game, not on tribal lines. In the end, she jumped ship on her original Ivindo tribe, and Mike was voted out. 13 are now left, who will be voted out next?

Leon was eerily quiet on return to camp. Shelby was expecting him to scream at her for flipping, but instead he simply sat on the log and quietly looked at the fire. Sherry didn't say anything, either, she simply helped Leon tend the fire. "Sherry and Leon were strangely quiet when we got back to camp", Shelby said. "It was kind of creepy." But the tension was clear, as when Shelby tried saying something to them, they wouldn't even acknowledge her, simply looking at the fire and not answering her. "Right now, Leon and I are on the outs", Sherry explained to the camera. "So we had to kind of keep a low profile when we returned to camp. But I knew that Leon was pissed." And pissed he was, and while he didn't show it around camp, he walked away from camp, near the river, and started to let out his anger by screaming. He was quite far away, so he thought that nobody would hear him, but everyone heard a faint bellow in the woods. "Is that an animal?" Sherry asked, half-serious. Leon came back several minutes later, but he wouldn't say a word. "Was that you?" Shelby asked, but he didn't answer, he just shook his head and looked straight into the fire. "Yeah, I got a temper, but I need to control it so people don't have to deal with it", Leon explained to the camera. But he wasn't fooling anyone, even his buddy, John. "Leon's got to watch his temper", John said to the camera. "I can hold my tongue and hide my emotions well, and Leon tries, but he just has to vent. It could be a problem down the road." Leon went to bed early, not wanting to let go and scream at Shelby, and not wanting to even look at her, either. "If I had my way, I would have wrung Shelby's neck when we got back to camp", Leon vented to the camera. "But I couldn't do that. But mark my words, she will get hers, believe me, I'm not going down without a fight. And I'm sure as hell not gonna let that little twit get her hands on the million dollars."

It was Day 16, and Eve still hadn't made her move yet. In fact, she had been quiet ever since returning from camp. "I needed to find the right time to show Eric the idol", Eve said. "I know that I can convince him that it would be in his best interest to align with me." And that morning, she got her chance as the two were collecting firewood together away from camp. "Eric", she called with a smile. He looked over. "I've got something in my pocket for you." He moved closer to her, and she pulled out the hidden immunity idol. "I think it's time we start working together." Eric looked at her in consideration. "When Eve pulled out that idol, my first reaction was pure terror", Eric admitted to the camera. "But then I realized that I could use this to my advantage. "Hear me out", she said. "I'm ready to put this whole Kym thing behind me if you want to work together." Eric nodded. "What are you proposing?" Eve explained, "Well, for starters, I know that you have a final six deal with Steve, Rachel, Dennis, and Patty. You know that isn't in your best interest. But what is would be a final six with me instead of Patty, and then we can use the idol at the final six." Eric agreed that this was a good plan, but there was a problem. "The thing is, Eve, Echira has the advantage right now. If we were to take out Patty at the next tribal council, how are we going to do that?" Eve shrugged. "That's not my fault, Eric. You're going to have to convince Steve, Dennis, and Rachel that Patty isn't to be trusted." Eric nodded, realizing he had his work cut out for him. "I know that Steve is a smart guy. And Dennis and Rachel are smart, too. So how are they going to agree to this plan?" Eric asked the camera rhetorically. "Right now, Eve having the idol is a blessing and a curse. It scares me that someone else besides me has that idol, but if that person is willing to work with me, and sticks to their word, then I should be able to put my trust in them." Eric paused. "Right?"

It was Day 16, and another normal day, except that Rosie woke up and groaned from stomach cramps. "Over the past few days, I've been feeling a little under the weather, mostly a stomach thing", Rosie confessed. "But it's probably nothing. Sherry's a little concerned though." Sherry was, especially when Rosie couldn't walk a few steps until she vomited behind a tree. "You might have eaten something bad", Sherry suggested. "Just watch out for it." Rosie nodded. "I think everyone's a little concerned about Rosie", Sherry said. "She has been throwing up periodically, and has been complaining of stomach cramps. But if it's something she ate, it will hopefully get out of her system in a few days." Despite Rosie's problems, Shelby woke up from the Echira camp feeling like the queen bee. "Right now, I feel great", she said, "I positioned myself perfectly, and honestly I couldn't care less about what Leon and Sherry think of me, because they have absolutely no power."

But John did, and the fact that Shelby hadn't gotten out of the shelter and it was approaching noon was rubbing him the wrong way. "Shelby, you want to watch the fire?" he asked. "Give me a few, John. I'm just waking up", she said as she rolled back over. "It's almost noon", John reminded her. "And the fire pit is a whole two steps away from the shelter." Shelby groggily replied, "I know, John! Just let me rest up for the reward!" John shook his head, "You know who used to say that? Mike", he said eerily." Shelby overheard this, and as she was lying down, asked John, "Is that a threat? Don't fucking threaten me." John began to walk off, but muttered, "You could use your energy cussing like that to actually get off your ass." Shelby heard this, and suddenly leapt out of the shelter. "Hey, don't walk away from me!" she yelled at him. "I don't want to play your fucking passive aggressive games!" John didn't waste any energy yelling at her, just simply saying, "Oh good, you're up. Take care of the fire." He left Shelby by the shelter, defeated, and going to the fire and muttering, "coward." By then, John was getting in the boat with Leon. "At this point, I don't see the point in trying to argue with Shelby", John said to the camera. "She's a fool if she thinks she's safe. I'll tell you, I'd much rather keep Sherry and Leon around than her. I don't have tolerance for slackers. And that's why Mike's gone. If she doesn't step it up, she's going home, too."

The two tribes arrived for what they thought would be the reward challenge. But when Jeff asks Ivindo for the immunity idol back, everyone begins to worry. "Today, you are not playing for immunity", Jeff said. "Because both tribes will be going to tribal council tonight." Everyone groaned as Jeff continued. "The winner of this challenge, in addition to sending a member of the losing tribe to Exile Island and making them immune from the vote, will also partake in a feast immediately after the challenge. At the feast, you will witness a traditional tribal dance from some of the natives. Definitely an upside to winning this challenge. After that, you will briefly go back to camp and then report to tribal council after the losing tribe is done voting someone off. Sound good?" Everyone nodded as Jeff explained the challenge. "For today's challenge your tribe will be shackled to each other in a small 10x25 foot prison cell. Outside the cell are 12 keys. You will have to use the resources in the cell to make a pole that will allow you to reach for the keys and unshackle everyone. After everyone is unshackled, you have to dig your way out of the cell. The first tribe to get everyone out of the prison cell and on to their mat wins." Everyone nodded, and Jeff told Ivindo that they must sit one person out since they have more members. They chose Eve. Jeff then told them to get into the cells, and they would be shackled.

Once everyone was shackled, Jeff called for the challenge to begin. "Survivors ready? Go!" Immediately both tribes got to work putting together several poles with the wood and rope. Steve lead the charge on Ivindo as he, being quite resourceful from being in the military, instructed his tribemates on how to fasten the tightest knot. On Echira, the men were gathering the wood while the women were fastening the knots. The assembly line they created got them finished faster, as they had three poles made. John, Shelby, and Leon started to use the poles to get the keys. John was able to get one of the keys quickly, but both Shelby and Leon's broke quickly. Meanwhile, on Ivindo, Steve was still continuing to fashion an extra-strong pole, and while Jerry and Patty were insisting that he hurry up, Steve knew that it was important for the pole to be strong, so it wouldn't break. Sure enough, Echira found themselves working with only one pole, with the other two having broke on the first try. John was able to get a second key, but upon getting the third, his pole broke, meaning they had to go back to the drawing board.

Luckily, Rosie and Heather made a new pole, so they went for their fourth key with that. They got key number four, but once again, the pole broke when retrieving key five. Still, Echira had a strong lead over Ivindo. Finally, however, Steve was able to fashion a strong pole, and handed it off the very agile and well-balanced Rachel, who was able to get the first key with both speed and balance. As she continued to get the keys, the pole remained strong thanks to Steve's superior pole, and Echira's lead narrowed as they now had seven keys, but their pole broke once again. John made a second pole, which he was able to use to get an eighth key, but it was definitely not strong enough to last too long. Ivindo now had five keys to Echira's eight, and Rachel continued to narrow Echira's lead as she efficiently got the keys with close concentration and good balance. When retrieving key nine for Echira, the pole of course broke again, and they had to use Heather and Rosie's newly made pole. However, they lost time as the pole didn't even get them one key.

Despite having a lead, the challenge for them was turning into a train wreck, and Rachel now tied them with eight keys, and was about to go for the ninth to surpass them. That she did, and within another minute, she was able to get all 12 keys and everyone unshackled themselves. Meanwhile, Echira was still trying to get their ninth key, having less and less luck as the challenge went on. John made one last pole, which seemed improved to the others, and was successfully able to get keys 9 and 10 in no time, leaving just two more. However, by then, Ivindo had unshackled each other and was looking for a way out of the cell. Steve, once again using his resourcefulness, found a weak spot in the ground and dug for it. He was able to make a big enough hole for Rachel, Patty, and scrawny Eric to get through, and then had to make the hole bigger for himself, Dennis, and Jerry. While Echira had gotten all the keys and unshackled themselves, it wasn't enough, and Steve, Dennis, and Jerry all broke free from the prison and onto their mat. "Ivindo! Wins reward!"

Ivindo cheered, happy about winning the reward, especially Steve and Rachel, who were both pivotal in winning the challenge. Echira was released from their cell, and Jeff told them, "Unfortunately Echira, you do not get the reward, and you will go back to camp, grab your stuff, and head to tribal council. The only silver lining for you guys-one of you is immune. The Ivindo tribe will choose to send one of you to Exile, who will not go to your tribal council tonight, but will get the chance to spy on Ivindo's tribal council." The Ivindo tribe huddled for an important decision. Steve motioned for it to be Eric's call, since he was good at strategy. Wanting to protect his former ally, Eric chose Leon to go to Exile, and the grateful Leon was forced to leave ally Sherry alone, quite vulnerable for the next vote. "Leon, head over to Exile. Ivindo, follow the path to your reward", Jeff said. "Echira, sorry, that's all there is, head back to camp and I will see you at tribal council." The tribes headed in opposite directions, Echira to camp and Ivindo to their reward.

The Ivindo tribe walked through the forest until they were greeted by two indigenous tribesmen of the Kota tribe, a tribe indigenous to Gabon. The two men allowed the tribe into their camp, where they were greeted with a large platter of meats, fruits, and vegetables. The chief greeted them, and offered them a seat in front of the large platter of food. "It was an amazing experience", Dennis recalled to the camera. "We were treated to an amazing feast of food that I've only been dreaming about for the past 16 days." Everyone sat down, but Jerry made somewhat of a blunder when he sat at the center of the table, where there was a large, grandiose wooden chair, which is where the chief was supposed to sit. The chief lightly touched him on the shoulder and told him to take a seat next to him. "I um-made a little mistake when we were sitting down at the table", Jerry said with a smile to the camera. "I accidentally sat where the chief is supposed to sit, at the center of the table. I mean, I of course knew that, but I just misjudged what seat was exactly the center of the table." As Jerry was sitting down next to the chief, he tried to recover himself, saying "I misjudged where the center of the table was, I didn't realize that was the chief's chair or whatever." Rachel smiled and looked over at him, "You mean the huge 8-foot chair didn't tip you off?" she jokingly pointed out as everyone at the table laughed. "Rachel just wouldn't let it go, but I think it was just because she was nervous because in a lot of African cultures, women are not respected, so she was just overcompensating", Jerry reasoned with the camera. "I mean, I got to sit next to the chief, which was a huge honor. It was where I wanted to sit, anyways."

After Jerry's little blunder, everyone clearly enjoyed their feast. "It was delicious", Patty told the camera. "Best food I've had in a long time. Then they treated us with a tribal ritual, kind of a dance." As the dinner was winding down, the Kota tribesmen gathered together and performed a tribal dance in front of the Ivindo tribe. "Dinner and a show!" Jerry obnoxiously yelled out, with Eve rolling her eyes. "Jerry was a little obnoxious", Eve said. "But you have to look at him like a hyper four-year old kid. You just can't take him anywhere." But overall, it was a very rewarding experience for everyone. "I'm definitely going to remember this night for the rest of my life", Steve said. "It was the experience of a lifetime. This challenge was definitely worth winning, even if we have to vote someone out tonight."

When arriving on Exile, Leon was anything but happy. "It's nice to be immune", Leon admitted, "but when it's at Sherry's expense, it doesn't feel right. My closest ally is definitely in danger of going home tonight." The combined worry of his friend's safety and the safety of himself if she were to go home caused him to look for the hidden immunity idol. He followed the same path that the others before him did, and as it got increasingly darker, Leon finally got to the final clue, where he saw that a hole had been recently filled. "I think the idol has already been found", Leon told the camera. "But I'm still going to look until I can't anymore." Sure enough, as he dug the hole, he found an empty box where the idol once was. "Well, it's gone", Leon said somberly. "But it was worth a shot. All I got to do right now while I'm here is worry about Sherry's safety."

On return from camp, John was not happy with what transpired at the challenge. "It was a train wreck", he told the camera. "And it was all of us. We just couldn't fasten a secure pole to save our lives." While Rosie felt once again like she let her tribe down, she was relieved that the challenge wasn't very physical. "If this challenge was physical it would have killed me", Rosie said. "I've been kind of running low on energy so luckily all I had to do was tie a few knots and jump out of a hole. But I didn't even do that well." But some people weren't too fixated on the challenge, especially, Sherry, who realized she was a marked woman. "I'm the obvious suspect to go home right now," Sherry said. "With Leon gone to Exile, and Shelby jumping ship to the other side, I'm definitely the odd one out." However, one thing that she had going for her was that she was well-liked and respected by her tribe. "Sherry's a great woman", John said. "She works hard, she has a great attitude, and she's overall very kind and nurturing around camp. It doesn't feel right that she would be going home tonight." John voiced his concerns to Heather and Rosie. "Listen, do we really want Sherry to go home tonight? I mean, I don't know if I can stand another day with Shelby." While Heather and Rosie nodded, they didn't see it the same way. "If we keep Sherry around", Heather told John, "it could hurt us. She's a bigger threat down the line than Shelby is." Rosie nodded in agreement, but John still didn't feel right about it.

Later on, as John and Sherry were tending to the fire, Shelby was still resting from the challenge in the shelter. "It totally sucks that we lost!" she complained. "And now we got to vote someone off. Losing a reward and going to tribal in one day is fuckin' awesome", she said bitterly, as John shook his head in annoyance. Sherry picked up on this, and when Shelby walked off with Heather to bathe in the river, Sherry made a pitch. "Listen", she whispered. "Keeping Shelby is not in your best interest, trust me." John nodded, "I know." Sherry continued. "If you keep her around, don't expect her to stay loyal to you, she's just going to sway to wherever she feels most comfortable." John nodded again, looking at the fire. "I agree, Sherry. But some people don't." He motioned over to the river, where Heather was bathing with Shelby. "Talk to the girls, maybe you have a chance at staying if you can convince them." When Rosie came around the corner, Sherry got up and asked Rosie if they could take a walk. "I hope to God that Sherry can convince the girls to take Shelby out", John said. "I'm totally on her side tonight. But honestly, Rosie and Heather are thinking strategy, and they think that Shelby is trustworthy enough to go to the end with. I just don't know." On her walk with Rosie, Sherry pitched the same argument that she did with John. "You know that Shelby turned on her tribe, it's not gonna take much for her to do the same thing." Rosie considered this, but told Sherry, "Honestly, I don't know Sherry, there are a lot of factors." Sherry continued to press Rosie. "Just consider it, talk to Heather about it, and think about it from a different perspective." Rosie said that she would, and the two went their separate ways. "Right now, I'm fighting for my life", Sherry said. "I really don't know which way the wind is going to blow tonight. But I did everything I could, and hopefully that's enough."

It was approaching the night of Day 16, and Echira arrived at tribal council first. Jeff told them to take a seat and immediately started the questioning. "So, obviously a big day today. Rosie, what was your reaction to the challenge?" Rosie smiled. "Well, it was rough. We definitely screwed up. Ivindo had it together better than we did." Jeff nodded, and moved on. "John, you're a competitive guy, how did it feel to be so far ahead and then fall behind like that?" "Well", John started. "It's rough, we've had two big losses in a row, but I think we can bounce back and win the next few challenges." "Shelby", Jeff moved on, "After realizing that you are going to tribal council tonight, was there a lot of scrambling going on?" Shelby nodded, "A little, but there's really only one person in the hotseat tonight and that's Sherry." At that, Sherry smirked and nodded at Jeff. "Sherry, how does that make you feel, being outed like that right here before the vote?" "It's not a surprise coming from Shelby", she said bluntly. "But I knew I'm the favorite to go home coming in here anyway, just based on numbers." Jeff nodded. "So what can you say to the tribe to keep you here tonight?" Sherry spoke up, "Honestly, I'm not sure there's a lot to say, just that I've given a hundred percent in challenges and around camp, which is much more than I can say about Shelby." John nodded, but Shelby rolled her eyes. "Shelby, defend yourself. Why should they keep you?" Jeff asked. "Well", Shelby started, "I think I kind of saved Rosie and her crew's butt last tribal council, I think they owe me their trust and loyalty." John rolled his eyes, as Jeff told them that it was time to vote, "Sherry, you're first."

Sherry approached the voting booth, where she took no time at all in writing down Shelby's name. "Shelby, this is just a vote to protect myself. It's you or me tonight, girl." Sherry put her vote in the box, and Heather followed her in the voting booth. John was up next, followed by Rosie. The final person to vote was Shelby, who wrote down Sherry's name. "Sherry, it's nothing personal, I enjoyed my time out here with you, but it's simple numbers. It's your time to go." After Shelby put her vote in the box, Jeff announced the contestants, "I'll go tally the votes."

Will Rosie and Heather side with Shelby, or will they realize that she can't be trusted and vote her off? Jeff returned with the votes, and started, "If anyone has the hidden immunity idol and they want to play it, now is the time to do so." Since nobody had the idol, Jeff went ahead and opened the voting box. "First vote: Sherry." Sherry nodded, then Jeff read the second vote: "Shelby" Shelby rolled her eyes, expecting the vote from Sherry. "Next vote: Shelby." Shelby then had a worried look on her face, feeling less secure than she did. "That's two votes Shelby, one vote Sherry." Jeff read the next vote, which secured Shelby's fate. "The sixth person voted out of Survivor Gabon is: Shelby." Shelby shook her head and grabbed her torch. "Nice guys," she said sarcastically, and put her torch down in front of Jeff. "Shelby, the tribe has spoken. As Jeff doused Shelby's torch, she walked away from tribal council, and Sherry mouthed, "Thanks" to John, Rosie, and Heather. "Well, I think Shelby had no idea she was going tonight", Jeff observed as John smiled triumphantly. "It should go to show the four of you that you should never feel completely safe in this game. Head back to camp, I'll see you tomorrow." The Echira tribe, done with their obligation at tribal council, headed back to camp and were excited for the days to come.

Tribal Council Vote:
Votes Against Shelby: Sherry, John, Rosie, Heather (4)
Vote Against Sherry: Shelby (1)

Shelby's final words:
Wow, I didn't expect that one. I'm not surprised with John, but I thought I had Rosie and Heather in my corner. I guess that's how the game goes, and I shouldn't have gotten so cocky. I wish everyone the best, except John, I hope he burns in hell and dies.

Upon returning for the reward, it was approaching dark, and the mood of the tribe quickly shifted. Eric realized he had very little time to turn the tables and hopefully get Patty out, but he had an idea that would hopefully get her out swiftly. "I remember when I was talking to Steve that he told me that he would be willing to sacrifice Rachel at the final five to make things even for Jerry and I at the final four", Eric confided to the camera. "Now I'm not sure if this is completely true, but I know I can use it to my advantage." And that he did, as he told Rachel what Steve had said. "Listen, I know how you feel about Patty, and I'm giving you an opportunity to take her out now." Rachel, who never liked or trusted Patty, and who also felt she might be gunning for her later on because of the vote she cast against her, was intrigued. "I'm listening." Eric went into his pitch. "I think it would be in everyone's best interest if we take out Patty tonight instead of Eve." Rachel was confused. "I thought you hated Eve." Eric explained, "Listen, I think Patty's slippery, and I don't think we can trust her come merge time." Rachel nodded in agreement. "I think I have Eve under my thumb at this point, so I think that as long as we win the next challenge, we have a 6-4 advantage at the merge and its fair game for everyone." Rachel was skeptical of this plan. "How is that good for me, Dennis, and Steve, because all of a sudden we're even 3-3 instead of 4-2." Eric paused.

"Honestly, Eric is about as trustworthy as Patty is to me", Rachel told the camera. "He's out for himself. But if he has a plan to take out Patty, I'm all ears as long as it doesn't hurt me and Dennis's chances." Eric then decided to tell Rachel news that would make her suspicious of one of her closest allies. "Listen, you have no reason to believe me when I say this, but Steve has told me that he is willing to vote you out before the final four to even the playing field." This shocked Rachel, who saw Steve as a trustworthy ally. "What does that mean?" she asked him. "It means that he knows how close you and Dennis are. He told me that the two of you need to be broken up before the final four." Rachel nodded, trying to process all this information. "So if Patty goes tonight, Steve is going to have to keep you and Dennis both around for pure numbers." Rachel considered this, and told Eric that she needs to think about it. "Do what you have to do", he told her calmly, as she stumbled back to camp. "Right now, I don't know who to trust. I know that Eric will manipulate things to go his way. But I don't know, my gut is telling me to go with this one."

She took this to the only person she could truly trust, Dennis. "Listen, can we trust Steve?" she asked him, whispering. "What are you talking about? We got tribal in like five minutes", Dennis told her. Rachel speeded things up. "Listen, I think Patty should go tonight, I'm worried that Steve is going to pull a fast one on us at the last second." Dennis was perplexed, and when he was about to open his mouth, Rachel gave him a light punch on the arm to alert him that Steve was right behind him. Dennis turned around. "What's up?" Steve asked. Dennis thought for a minute, and decided to tell his friend. "Listen, Rachel is having second thoughts. She thinks that maybe Patty should go." Steve was confused. "What? That doesn't make any sense." Rachel spoke up. "Listen, I just think that Patty will go to whichever alliance suits her. I think if we pull Eve in with us, we can trust her more." To Dennis, this made sense, but if it did for Steve, he didn't express it. He just approached Rachel and put his hands on her shoulders. "Listen", he said condescendingly. "Just trust me on this. We got Patty. You have nothing to worry about, alright sweetie?" Rachel nodded, and Steve said, "Okay, glad we got this cleared up." He then left. When he got far away enough, she flashed Dennis a look as if she wanted to slap Steve in the face. "Did you see that?! Nobody talks to me like that, Dennis!" she exclaimed angrily, and Dennis nodded, "Listen, we shouldn't be making emotional decisions-" he told her, but she cut him off. "Emotional?! Dennis, trust me on this, we can not trust Steve if Patty is in this game." She looked at him, one hundred percent sure of herself. He definitely considered this, as he listened to her more than Steve did. But would he turn his back on his friend and go along with it? And if not, would Rachel turn her back on both her allies to cast the pivotal vote against Patty?

As Steve was packing his bags to go to tribal, Patty whispered to him, "I'm safe, right? It's Eve?" Steve gave a small nod, and, being all the encouragement she needed, went to grab her torch for tribal council. "I've gone from being at the bottom of the pole to close to the top", Patty told the camera. "And it's a good feeling. I feel pretty safe tonight when a few days ago I had no idea of my fate, so it's a good feeling." But both Eve and Eric had different plans. "I really hope this plan works out and I don't go home tonight", Eve said. "I'm bringing my idol, just in case I get the vibe that it is me. So, if I catch up on that vibe, I might actually use the idol tonight. It would totally blow my plan with Eric, but it might have to be my saving grace."

The Ivindo tribe arrived at tribal council. After setting their things down, they took a seat. Jeff then announced Leon's entrance, who would be sitting in on this tribal council. Leon walked in and gave Eric and Jerry a playful wink as he sat in the soon-to-be jury box. "So, I imagine it was a very busy day for you guys. Jerry, how was the reward?" Jerry smiled, "Well, besides a few hitches, it was an amazing experience." Everyone laughed lightly as Jeff asked him, "Hitches? What happened?" Jerry laughed. "I took the chief's seat-as a joke." Eve rolled her eyes. Jeff decided not to explore that, and went on to the questioning.

"So Steve, you're getting further into the game, what are you basing your vote on tonight?" he asked. "Well Jeff", Steve said. "You have to be practical, you have to think, who is most valuable to keep around in the long run, and who is going to be a threat down the road." Dennis nodded, agreeing with his ally's summary. "Rachel, what do you bring to the table? How are you valuable?" Jeff quizzed her. "Well, I think I proved today that I'm good in the challenges. And I'm a loyal ally as long as you're a hundred percent honest with me." Jeff then turned to Patty. "Patty, how is Rachel a threat?" Patty answered quickly. "She's like a triple threat, Jeff. She's likeable, strong, and unassuming. Plus she's got that little romance goin' on with Dennis." Rachel furrowed her brow, and Jeff then went back to her. "So Rachel, how is Patty a threat?" Rachel smirked, "You trying to pick a fight, Jeff?" Everyone laughed quietly, and Rachel answered the question. "She's an awesome person, but I think trust is a big thing for me when I look at her. I ask, 'Can I trust her based on her past actions?'"

Patty, likewise, furrowed her eyebrow in confusion, and then Jeff said. "Okay, it is almost time to vote but we have one more order of business. Leon is not only here to collect information, he is here to give one of you immunity. So Leon, next to you is an immunity necklace, grab it and put it around the person of your choices neck." Everyone was surprised, and Patty hoped and prayed that it wouldn't be Eve, as Eve did the same with Patty. However, Leon put the necklace around Eric's neck, saying, "Just paying you back for givin' me immunity." Eric smiled, immune from tonight's vote. "Okay, it is time to vote, you can vote for anybody but Eric; Jerry, you're up."

Jerry approached the voting booth and cast his vote. He was then followed by the immune Eric, and then Eve, who cast her vote for Patty. "This is a game, girl. I think you're really cool, but this is the only way that I can survive tonight's tribal council. Hope it's you." Steve then approached the voting booth, followed by Dennis, and then Patty, who cast her vote for Eve. "You just got screwed early on in this game. You seem like a smart cookie, but unfortunately, somebody's gotta go." After Patty put her vote in the box, Rachel was the final person to vote. She contemplated her vote for a second, and then uncapped the pen and wrote a name down. She then returned to her seat when Jeff announced, "I'll go tally the votes."

Will Eric and Eve's last-minute effort to get Patty out of this game work? Or will Eve be sent home by the former Echira members? Jeff then came back with the voting urn. "If anyone has the hidden immunity idol and they want to play it, now is the time to do so." There was a long pause for Eve to turn in the idol, but she decided not to. Patty breathed a sigh of relief as Jeff nodded and said, "Okay, once the votes are read, the decision is final, the person voted out will be asked to leave the tribal council area immediately. I'll read the votes." Jeff opened the box and read the first vote. "First vote: Eve." Eve nodded as Jeff read the next vote: "Patty." Patty didn't move, somewhat surprised to receive a vote. Jeff read the third vote: "Eve. That's two votes Eve, one vote Patty." Jeff read the next vote. "Patty. We're tied, 2 vote Eve, 2 votes Patty." Everyone clenched their hands nervously as Jeff read the next vote: "Patty. That's three votes Patty, two votes Eve." Jeff then read the next vote: "The seventh person voted out of Survivor Gabon is: Patty." Patty's jaw dropped as Jeff read the last vote and told her to bring her torch. She gathered her belongings as Jeff said to her, "Patty, the tribe has spoken." As Jeff doused her torch, she left tribal council. Steve was stunned by his friend going home, but Eric had a smirk on his face, proud of himself for a job well done. "Well, it seems that, once again, the person going home did not expect it. This should definitely serve as a warning to everyone that even if you feel comfortable, anything can happen. Head back to camp, I'll see you tomorrow." The final six Ivindo members grabbed their belongings and headed back to camp after a long night.
