I've been trying to decide which route to go for my dad's stuff. My sister wants to have a garage sale, but I've been told it's much easier to have an auctioneer handle it all....which works for ME. Besides, there's a house full of furniture, so I would think an auction/estate sale is the best route.
P.S. One of my brothers is an asshole. Just wanted to throw that out there.
AP sorry for your loss..GOD DAMN I seem to be saying that so much lately. If you have furniture and a real whole house and auctioneer IS the way to go.
And I am really most of all sorry for that one asshole brother. been there done that..
and dmb, sorry for your loss if I didn't mention that earlier.... the auction thing works best unless you just have household goods then have your own garage sale and then just drive the rest to the closest thrift shop. Just make sure all the relatives get to pick stuff out of the leftovers if they want it.
It's really not about getting the most money out, it is about getting it OVER WITH so you can greive without all the hassle.
