That Task was a complete and utter set-up. The Producers came up with Task they knew the Players would refuse to even attempt in the first place. So, whether some Players refused out-right, or others seemed game to give it a try. It was never going to happen, and whichever anyone appeared to be doing (refusing or willing) gives no indication as to anyone's Molishness.

The only effect, and the only intended effect, is to turn the group on the person assigning the outfits. And certainly, were a Player in that position, they'd be hated. But that really wouldn't be fair to do to an actual Player, so they made sure the Mole would be in that position.

Note how ridiculously obvious they made Craig be the person who said "Exemption" first. I'm sure they had a back-up plan in case someone else said it first. Craig would say something else, and Kelley would then say that word was the word that determined the assigner.

So why suddenly try to turn people against Craig/The Mole? For the drama. That's all. Some players will reaffirm their thoughts that Craig is the Mole, other may reconsider it (thinking it's too blatant for The Mole), but that's the case with every Mole sabotage. This didn't really expose Craig at all. But it created drama without it being at the expense of a truly random player. Granted, turning them against Paul wouldn't have made a whole lot of difference.
