It really is becoming a very big problem. I live in Colorado where child obesity isn't as bad as it is in other states, but I am seeing more and more morbidly obese kids. 130 - 170 pound 8 year-old come in to get their tonsils out, nose surgery etc. Pre-teens over 200 pounds. Kids having surgery have enough risk, this just adds to it.

I blame the parents. Shit we had a 6 year old who out weighed me and threw up when he was waking up because he obviously ate that morning (his parents didn't know it). I believe them when they said after they didn't give him anything, I think he got himself some food not understnading why he wasn't allowed to eat.Very lucky he was still intubated when it happened.
