OK, although it may be good entertainment, The Tudors is historicaly inaccurate, so don't read into it too much.

Back in the day, The King was allowed to do whatever the hell he wanted. Henry did have a male son with that blonde chick, but the baby was considered a bastard, therefore had no rights to inherit the throne.
