Henry may have been suffering from syphilis. It explains why he was able to have one child with Katherine - then he infected her and other pregnancies weren't successful. The same happened with Anne, and she had miscarriages, one where they made a point of showing Henry the deformed baby to prove she was a witch. With Jane he had Edward, but Jane kicked the bucket on her own. By the time he got around to the final three wives, he was just marrying for political reasons.
