I do know that where ever and whenever possible, I prefer being called by my Nations name. It is a sign of respect.

Thanks for your input SA. I would imagine that the context would also make a difference on how insulting it is? Some people don't know any better and some really are trying to use a slur.

ETA: Also wondering about the word "tribe" since you used the word "Nation." Is "tribe" out of style now and do you consider it to be offensive?
