Jeff said "I hope someone is dumb enough to pick an apple over a chance at immunity, the only thing that guarantees your chances of a million dollars" but I personally think after awhile your body breaks down and you would actually be smart to choose a comfort bed or fruit, the Comfort items will increase as the games continues I'm sure so i would use exile as an advantage to relax. Besides, i bet the very person who's "smart enough" to find and use the idol gets blindsided or makes a dumb move anyway.
