I really dont have an opinion one way or another on Ricky Schroder, but the guy does kind of defy the odds. He IS still working. Sure, some of it is lame, but some of it is quite good - NYPD Blue, 24? These are super popular shows that are critically acclaimed. It's not like he's playing David, the bi-curious neighbor on Episode 14 of one of those weird UPN sitcoms that no one watches.
Here's a MALE child actor that sustained and is still working - sure, you'll get a random female one that will still be around because they maintained their looks into adulthood (Alyssa Milano maybe), but I like the fact that he's still married after all these years and is about family. That's refreshing in the fucked up Hollywood culture.
