I loved the books and liked the movie. I thought it was an excellent adapation, keeping the important parts, losing the unimportant parts, and most importantly, condensing it appropriately. Stephenie Meyer could use a lesson in condensing. My major gripe was the use of extreme close-up shots. I had seen test footage from filming back in April, and I felt like they lost some of the magic by going too tight. There was a hospital clip I saw that was much more interesting in wide shot than close up.
