Comparing the two seasons Amanda lost, the thing that stands out the most to me is that she started going to pieces at the same stage in each of them.
Not at the Final TC but at the TC preceding it. Right at the point when she had to vote out a close ally.
Observing her behavior, I can only surmise that she is, to use her own words, cliquey. She has no qualms working with her friends to get rid of everyone else and feels a perverse pleasure excluding those outside of her clique. This is why her social relationships outside of her core group of allies were poor in both series and resulted in her getting very few votes.
On the other hand, when the time came to finally voting off her friends, she felt genuinely bad. Hence the emotional meltdown at each of the second-last TCs, and a state of mind which carried over into the Final TCs, with disastrous consequences.
