I'm almost certain that the two voted out based on first impressions will just return to their own tribes with immunity for their first TC's. The cast pick is taken pre-game and all are on original tribes. The tribe pics look a couple days in with the same composition of tribes as in the cast pic.

I think both tribes vote someone out..they stay behind or go to exile where Probst explains they now have immunity at their first TCs and then they return to their own camps and the game plays out.

No one is leaving before the first actual TC and no one is switching tribes. it's just a new way of giving 2 people immunity at the beginning like Gabon, Micronesia and Palau.
I never even thought about rewarding the first chosen to leave, with immunity for the first tribal council. Definitely possible, but to me it goes against the grain for the premise of Survivor. Why reward someone who has the worst first impression by giving them immunity on your tribe?

PrettyGoodYear, I had forgotten about the fact that they all get off the truck ready for the journey in the color-coded clothes for their respective tribe. So I guess there is no tribe switch with the players. I would imagine that the chosen from each tribe just have to miss the journey and the bonding of the tribe in the first part of the competition. And it will also set off players against each other from the beginning.

It is interesting in that they will have to show some of the interactions of the players before they even speak to each other.
