Best she'll do is an out-of-court settlement, if even that. Between VH1 and Sharon herself, Sharon's lawyers should make short work of Megan's case, or at least drain her money until she can't afford to continue on. Hopefully Megan's taking this seriously, or it could really bite her in the ass.
Sorry, but people like you are living in the fantasy world.
Sharon physically assaulted Megan on camera, thus visual proof of the crime. The assault was not in any way, shape or form self-defense. Sharon broke the law by physically assaulting someone, therefore Sharon is liable for her actions.
This is a country where hitting someone with your car BY ACCIDENT can get you sued and you will have to pay damages. This is a country where a person can be walking on your property and slip and fall and sue you for damages. This is a country where a person can buy a cup of hot coffee and spill it on themselves and then sue the establishment that sold you the cup of hot coffee for damages.
Sharon didn't accidently jump Megan like a rabid over-the-hill jealous rocker whore and accidently pull Megan's hair and mistakenly scratch and slap Megan. It was a purposeful act of assault. Sharon is easily proven guilty by a review of the tapes, thereby removing any "she said/she said" argument. Done deal. The only issue now is how much will Sharon agree to pay Megan to get the matter behind her and move on with her life.
Legally, Megan DOES have a viable case that can and will see a courtroom if Sharon doesn't pay up beforehand. There is no law that excludes fame whores from damages when they are physically assaulted. In the eyes of the law, Megan is a victim of assault and since Sharon actually has money, Sharon is ripe to be sued as the assaulter.
