Speaking of Tie Domi, this should be fun :D
This is almost as big as the Hockey Hall of Fame announcement. And with sequins.
CBC released the roster for "Battle of the Blades," which will match hockey players and figure skaters for pairs competition in October.
In addition to Bob Probert and Tie Domi, who have been featured in promos, the players are former Spartan Craig Simpson, Stephane Richer and Hall of Famers Lanny McDonald and Glenn Anderson.
"It sounded like a lot of fun," Probert said Tuesday. "It's also for charity."
Their partners weren't named, but the hosts are Ron MacLean and Kurt Browning. What, no Don Cherry, on the one show where his wardrobe wouldn't stand out?
As for competing with Domi, Probie said: "It's my way of getting him again."
The two dropped the gloves many times, and Probert remembers winning one bout in New York and seeing new Hall of Famer Steve Yzerman on the bench, mimicking wearing a heavyweight title belt at him:
"To have Steve acknowledge that I won the fight, for the Captain to do that in their building, was a great event. It shows how much he stuck behind his players."
