Kim was my least favorite of the Mallrats, who were my favo group on one of my least favo seasons. Do the math. Kim was probably the toughest and most athletic girl in the cast and she had some amazing friends, but beyond that she was kind of boring. She's probably spunkier and a better gamer than most "sweethearts", but she also tread the middle ground and was beloved by everyone, and that's so effing lame. When the mallrats were targeted by the elders and they tried to get Silas on their side, Kim was lumped in with Lindsey and Brandon as one of the lazy, bratty, unproductive ones for some reason. I never understood that. Anyway she apparently redeemed herself later on as she was the only mallrat to be universally well-liked. It's weird to me that she could be in the core of a hated alliance but also the most popular female from a season (and she was, at the time). As far as sweethearts go she was kind of second-rate tbh, and I don't think anyone would include her in the same group as legendary sweethearts like Colleen (who isn't a true "sweetheart", which I will get to later) and Elisabeth (the real ORIGINAL sweetheart). Anyway, points for being fun and energetic. But overall: "meh".
On Kim's personality: Kim is apparently very easy to get along with and so fun. I love how she made her friends special friendship bracelets <3 It's important to let everyone know who you're friends with in Survivor, and I can't think of a single drawback to doing so. They should've had shirts made. Kim was like 30 when she was doing the whole "young clique" thing, which makes her a perfect fit for fellow fun-loving-but-too-old-to-be-perpetuating-high-school-mentality contestant Alex Bell, who would eventually become her husband. Survivor love <33
On Kim's gameplay: Africa was such a clusterfuck that it hurts my head to talk about it. There were so many opportunities to overthrow Boran and Kim tried to take advantage of a few of those, and then other times she was a complete and utter fool (as in when she refused to vote with Brandon because he pissed her off the round before or w/e
). She was more strategy-oriented than many remember, though.
On Kim's placement: Kim P. was never one of my favorites despite my general appreciation for young athletic female contestants and my undying support for the Mallrats. I did like her, I just wasn't like...a fan, necessarily. It's really out of character for me considering she got sixth place (my favorite place other than first), she was cute and she was one of the strongest women. idk. Sorry Kim P this is where you go.
