*~* 55. JULIE BERRY *~*
Jules is often referred to as the hottest girl evah on Survivor, and I do think she's beautiful, but the intensity of her appeal escapes me. Julie is relatively well-spoken, seems fun and is obviously not uptight, but she just doesn't have any fire in her eyes (at least that I can tell). Pretty much everyone knows that ~femme fatale~ is my favorite Survivor archetype and Julie played that one to a "t", seducing the men AND women on her tribe with her youthful, non-threatening presence and then stepping over them on to the next level of the game without even so much as blinking. Still, I just don't "get" her. A lot of people throw the word "slut" around for attractive women on Survivor that they don't like, but Julie is easily the skankiest girl to ever appear on Survivor. She got naked and sat between the legs of a married man who was old enough to be her father. And then she fucked the host and got like a billion questions at the reunion
Now I'm not saying she was a gold digger or a whore or anything, I'm just saying how it
looked. That stuff actually makes me like her more tbh. If you've got it, flaunt it, and she has it. But she doesn't have "it" and that's
why she absolutely cannot be higher than this.
On Julie's personality: Jules seems very laid-back and easy to get along with. I think everyone on both tribes was in love with Julie at one point or another and she had the uncanny ability to be anyone and everyone's BFF. She was always down to do girly things like braid hair, giggle and paint each other's bodies. If you can imagine it leading to lesbian sex in a sorority porn movie, Julie probably did that at some point during her time in Vanuatu.
On Julie's gameplay: Many people claim Julie is underrated as a player and after rewatching Vanuatu a while back I have to say there's a legitimate case for it. She was very chameleon-like and handled tribe-shuffles and the complexities of original-tribe loyalty better than anyone I've ever seen. Vanuatu had so many amazing female characters that I think Julie just kind of get's lost in people's memories.
On Julie's placement: I like Julie ok and I understand why other people love her and think she's amazing, I just don't. In theory she should be in like my top 20 or something but I don't have strong feelings about her like that. There's no reason for her to NOT be higher though, other than just my general "meh"ness about her. Her personality isn't engaging to me, so here she is.
