I disliked Lujack too, and found it unbelievable that Beth would leave Phillip for Lujack(!). But I didn't know then that the actors who played Phillip and Beth apparently couldn't stand each other, so the show did them a favor by breaking them up. But the actor who played Lujack reportedly didn't get along with her either, so....
And as much as I hated Vincent Irizarry as Lujack, for some reason I liked him when he returned as Nick in the 90s. But he had a great storyline then with Mindy and Alexandra, before Kimberley Simms (Mindy) got fired by the despicable executive producer.
