You know, I don't think I've ever started a thread at Sucks.... but now seems like the right time.
After a mere five and half years into what was supposed to be an eighteen month gig, I've departed ezboard. While the whole process has been quiet and amicable, it just didn't seem right to go with a goodbye post. And there was only one place that seemed appropriate -- OT.
I learned the "business" of ezboard in a lot of places, but Sucks and OT was where I really learned what ezboard is. Who knew what Zarles and his damned potato head pic would lead to? I've enjoyed the time here and in the Splinterverse, and feel like I took the full tour -- got patted on the back (and stabbed in it), been a yeller and a yellee, and connected to some very good folks. I especially appreciated the personal support from many of you during the divorce -- it meant a lot, and helped a lot. Thanks for all of it.
I'm gainfully semi-employed, returning to some of the things I did and loved before coming here (health care and simulation software), and working through whether I can make a long-standing pet project of mine in educational software work without taking a vow of poverty. We shall see, but I'm enjoying the time and process. I still have ezsteve (now a mere "mortal" account), and of course a few pussy ghostnics, so I may be back around in this new incarnation.
