Lost-TV has links to sites with some spoiler-ish information. Here's two in particular from AICN. It's an interview with Damon Lindelof.

I know what it's like to get attached to a show that gets axed after three episodes, but I say watch the pilots. They're both very entertaining shows and worth the risk of a "broken heart." Even if you wind up not watching the series, check out the pilots--they can stand alone.

Of the two shows, I think Lost is the less risky emotional investment. I get the feeling that ABC is really, really committed to the show. Plus, it has the ooportunity to grow an audience in its Wednesday timeslot. Desperate Housewives' timeslot will be occupied by Alias in January, so if it doesn't garner an audience by then, it'll probably get axed.

Lost already has a bunch of fansites, has garnered a ton of critical acclaim, and I just get the feeling that it will do well--well, well enough to stay on the air for at least 13 episodes. In any case, whether it lasts for thirteen episodes or three seasons, you must definitely watch it. Otherwise, you'll be missing out on a damn good show.

BTW, you should save your VCD copies of the pilots. They've reshot many of the scenes in the Desperate Housewives pilot, thanks to recasts. Meanwhile, the producers are expected to cut out some of the more graphic scenes in Lost.
