Excellent show. Should make up for the ridiculous MANHUNT. I also agreed that Austin's corn dress was the most innovative (and looked good considering it was corn husks). I would have gotten rid of Starr or the guy who made that gown solely out of shower curtains (not really creative at all).

Austin is great. He reminds me of a young Yves St. Laurent in his style and manner. I hope he wins.
Who is the big fat flamboyant gay guy again? He's funny |

Quote: Unless she does much, much better (or unless someone has a meltdown) I think that Starr is pretty much a goner. I think she got a bye because she at least tried for a little creativity, even though she did use tin foil. And there were actually two guys who used shower curtains as their base, not just one. While I don't think it earned them a lot of points, both dresses were nice so they'll probably be around for a bit. |

I preferred the outfits that required the most creativity and manipulation of materials. There was one guy who used shower curtains and something else, and another who just used shower curtains (which isn't that much different from large pieces of fabric, except that it's vinyl). He was the one who took like a relatively short time to make his outfit. I would've docked him for creativity.
I also really liked the blue outfit made from the lawn chair and place mats. It sort of looked like something you'd see on a runway. |

I'm so pissed that Bravo isn't showing this in Canada as the show looks awesome. I can't even believe all those dresses were made out of materials from a grocery store. I couldn't even guess what the lawn chair dress was.
Agree on the models - Tyrra better start coming up with those kind of contestants. |

I luuuuuuuuuuuuuuuurve this show!!!!! Finally, a freakin show that we can enjoy just for being a new concept. Tired of all the clones and this one has shown to be compelling on the first ep.
These people actually have to think and prove their worth to stay on. Austin is a bigger caricature of Carson Daly himself. Too funny. Were they subcategorized for their respective apartment groups? The most normal (stable for now) one has the "mom" and the guy who likes his mom. The all out gay ghetto flat would be with tubby porn guy. |

I thought the designer of this should have been eliminated:
![]() It just doesn't work as an evening gown. It doesn't work as anything really. |

Quote: After reading everyone's Q&A I'm surprised at how illiterate some of them are (supposing they wrote their own.) like 90% of them have famous designers names misspelled. I like Austin too, and my favorite is when he sings "Poison Arrow"!!

i agree with whomever said Austin looks like a young Yves St Laurent!
caught a bit of the show and like it so far. Austin's cornhusk dress surpassed everyone else's in terms of form, cut, structure and originality. glad that obnoxious Daniel was eliminated. he didn't get the core of the challenge thereby making his design too literal and uninspired. based on first impressions, one epi, and shared fashion influences, i'm rooting for my former alma mater and fellow F.I.T'ers Austin and Robert. i also see potential in Nora (very Courreges/Paco Rabane meets futuristic lawnwear) and Kevin (yay for SAIC i hope he incorporates plenty of architectural elements). |

I can't really find a good picture anywhere, but Austin reminded me of Jm J Bullock.
