SUCK IT UP PEOPLE! Shit happens. We're stuck with what we got.
If someone HAS to win this thing, lets hope its KAT. Her pitch problems can be fixed in a studio and she'll make great music. Taylor can take medication for his spasms but it ain't gonna make his music more marketable or mainstream. |

I think whoever wins this year will have a TOUGH time on the charts.
Some of the songs they sang on the show was released to radio and they virtually got no spins whatsoever. Kat got the highest airplay in POP, but that was only in California. They're gonna have a steep ass mountain to climb once the show is over. Quote: I think Taylor has a good shot at doing well in cd sales than Kat. But anywho... I'm voting Taylor anyways. |

I too believe there is too much mainstream, but we all know its all about the $$$. Mainstream America= big mainstream money. Unfortunately, this competition is a popularity contest and not a singing one.
Some people tune in just to laugh at Taylor and arn't interested in his music/songs. Its HOW he performs the songs that makes him entertaining. Hes thick, uncoordinated, and fun to watch. The man can "sing", but he cant "sang". If he wins, good luck finding him on the radio  Kat has had some good nights and some bad nights(pitch). She is more of an IT Factor than Taylor and has far greater potential to succeed in different kinds of music and adhear to different kinds of fans of different ages. She doesn't need to be physically "entertaining" like Taylor in order to get people to listen to her. (For those always harpin on her pitch problems) In the real world, we usually listen to perfectly sound "taped" songs instead of LIVE performances where pitch/tune/audio problems are normal. I do hope Kat wins, but Taylor may take the cake because "he's fun to watch". Tape it, and rewatch his performance with the audio off... you'll understand

There is a lite AC station by me that I can almost guarantee will play whatever Katharine releases. They still play Carrie and Kelly's coronation songs in their daily rotation, Kelly's Breakway, BTHE, Because of You and Since You Been Gone and Carrie's Some Hearts.
Plus one of the DJs advertises Idol on Tuesday/Wed and mentions Katharine as being his favorite basically everytime so I think that they will gladly play her coronation song and her CD will prob. fit the station genre wise. Kat will PWN Spastic Asshole in sales. |
