Minnie Driver moves in with her young son next-door to a bachelor and they don't hit it off so well right from the beginning. She's a vegan uptight mom raising her boy to be kind of a mamby-pamyby momma's boy and of course the boy pays a price for it by his classmates. Even though the boy knows he's being set up to be an outcast, he just wants to please his momma. I like the kid. In comes the bachelor neighbor to rescue the boy from his mother's massive grip and I think will eventually rescue her from herself.
And of course, the bachelor has his own issues. He hits on a hot chic and finds out she's a single mom and ends up inventing his own kid just so he can score. Before you know it, he has to produce a kid and the neighbor boy is just the ticket -- for a while. Then when things blow up, he tries to lose the kid. But as it turns out, they need each other.
First episode was good. I'll stick around for more. But no way in hell would I change my grilling outdoor habits to please a vegan neighbor. If she doesn't like it, feel free to remove yourself from your house while I'm grilling.
