That means there's actually someone who can and WILL enforce the "No Spolier" rules of Spec. Spec has been too long the Redheaded Stepchild of Sucks with nobody minding the store. Posters who frequent Spoilers come in and offer their "objective opinions," often bashing people making honest speculation because they know better, thanks to spoilers. No more. DONE.
If you even SMELL like you are posting based on Spoilers, your post WILL BE EDITED.
Even though, it's not my pool, I'm the only Lifeguard. So to abuse my power from the get-go, here's a couple of NEW RULES:
1. It's called SPECULATION, for God's sake! No bashing a poster for making honest speculation. No "That animal appearing over and over doesn't mean CRAP!!! Editing doesn't mean anything," posts. Give the poster the Benefit of the Doubt. OF COURSE they could be wrong. You don't need to point that out. Any post disagreeing with the basis of Speculation is going to be deleted and replaced by the simple message, "I disagree with the basis of ______'s speculation."
2. No ROOTING. Everybody lurrrrrves Cooleen. Just because you LIKE her doesn't mean she's going to win. Any post that is clearly just rooting (Hear that, Tennis Ace?) is going to be edited with a "*WHISTLE* Rooting" at the end. Be OBJECTIVE.
Moderating Spec means a lot of work for me. It means I have to go over all the Spoilers, which I've tried to avoid the last couple of seasons, to make sure they don't intrude into Spec. Because of that, I have to officially DISQUALIFY MYSELF from posting in most Spec threads, which SUCKS because I love Spec. It's where I started way back in S2. My comments will be limited, for the most part, to the "Story Arcs" thread in the MESS Hall.
My question out to all of you Speckies is: Would you like to know what Spoilers are out there? Not the specifics, but if there is an F4, F2, Winner spoiler, would you like to KNOW ABOUT IT, in order to know what "everyone else" knows? And what to avoid? I'll gladly do that for Spec, if you want. And Stickie it at the top. Speckies who avoid Spoilers need to know what has been potentially spoiled and how badly in order to avoid spoilers or maybe to choose which spoilers they want to see and which to avoid. So you know what the other side knows without specifics. And how to know when people are Specking from Spoilers or truly Spoiler-free.
Bottom line: I sees you when you're sleeping. I knows when you're awake. I know if you've been BAD or GOOD. So be good, for Goodness's sake.
