Somehow they managed to make sex boring. And... uh... while I understand the benefits of a quicky now and then... shit. Some of those characters seem to pop off damn fast.
The show is missing a soundtrack, too, which emphasizes the character angst, but not in a good way. No music whatsoever until a few seconds prior to the closing credits. Big Love, The Sopranos, etc. incorporated contemporary music into the script in a way that fit nicely with the storyline.
An establishing episode has to be taken for what it is, so I'm going to give a try a few more times to see if the plot thickens. Not much of interest at the moment, though.
The gender traits seemed blown out of proportion: the men were massive dicks, the women were annoying bitches. I kept thinking: "Fucking leave. Walk away. Who wants to take that shit in a relationship?"
Oh, right: you're not going to get a good sperm count just by LOOKING at his jizz on your hand, honey.
