I read some critics that really ripped on this movie, but I just watched it and all I gotta say is

Remind me again which movie was Disturbia? Who was in this one?

Basically a teenager version of Hitchcock's Rear Window that has been remade about 231 times.

i thought it kinda sucked big time.

I DON'T CARE which of you think it sucked. There's always someone on every single movie ever made that thinks it sucked. Tell me something I don't
know.
If you haven't seen it. Give it a whirl. It was a lot better than I expected it to be. Good old fashioned suspense. |

I prefer the suspense kind of movie...the ones that make you suck in your breath because of the anxiety. NOT the kind that make me cover my eyes because of the
eyeball bouncing across the frame. GROSS.

So you post on here and proclaim that you only want to hear opinions that are similiar to yours?
I give you three more weeks before you run home crying to mommy or upping your prescription dosage with your psychiatrist. |

I liked it too. It was an updated, teenage spin on Rear Window, but so what? It was a better Hitchcock homage than most of De Palma's crap. Good soundtrack
too.

it was ok. i didn't hate it but the last 30 minutes or so sucked major ass.

In fairness to the original poster:
Not a BAD movie if you go into not expecting much.... but it should have taken a more creative twist at the end. At LEAST make it somewhat unique when it's going to be compared to 231 other remakes/inspired plots. |

I disagree. "Creative" twists a la M. Night Shyamalan (or however he spells it) have nearly wrecked the mystery/suspense genre. Too many recent directors have stretched to come up with some absurd angle for a far fetched twist and forgotten the basics of creating a palpable atmosphere of tension, which I think this movie does not brilliantly, but nicely. |

It was better than most of the Rear Window ripoffs have been.

I'm not talking some twist like M. Night as in... "it was all a dream" or "the kid who saw the murders actually did it" I mean
something unique like maybe his mom was the murderer, there was more to why the "killer" moved to that area, or the killer actually "won"
and took out the main teen.

But that wouldn't have been unique, it would've been derivative of a number of low rent, Hitchcockian thrillers that make no sense because they create
elaborate, hole-laden plots in an effort to make it impossible to find out the killer's identity.

Ann Margret Thatcher wrote: It's more unique than the whole "the person you thought was the killer because of all the evidence is really the killer". Tomato... tomahto... Like I said not a BAD movie it just wasn't a great movie. |

It was pretty good most of the way through, but the last 20-30 minutes, as others have said, were absurd. It was as if the writers decided it was time to get
to the climax of the movie so they went for it.. The antagonist's loopy actions toward the end made little sense compared with what went on before that.

It was terrible and Shia needs to kill himself.

I fucking L O V E D it. But I saw it without having the faintest clue what it was about or even what type of movie it was, hadn't even seen the trailer.

The only reason I watched this movie was because of Shia (nothing but love for him). Everything else in the movie, including Matrix lady, blew chunks.

I feel a little pervy thinking dirty thoughts about Shia since I watched him asd a child in Even Stevens, but he grew up nicely, I just had no idea how he grew
up so fast when it seemed he was 12 just last year.
