Yeah, George sucks. He was never the best character, not even close. He just wasn't hurting the show for the first couple of seasons... and then
he and Izzy became it's biggest problem.

I think parts of season 5 were better than season 4. The latter half of the season being in "good" territory, while the first half was just
unwatchable in parts.

On a whole, it was better. Season 4 was horrible if only because there was so much Gizzie that really distracted things. This season the noticeable mis-steps was the horrid Dead Denny storyline and them not knowing WTF to do with Callie all season. On the plus side, they let Meredith be happy for awhile, which was nice and there were some good moments with Lexi/Mark and Owen/Christina. The latter half of this season was definitely in the "good" territory. (I would say that the Dead Denny episodes were probably perhaps the worst episodes of the entire series)

The last few episodes have been good. The others (with dead Denny) were so bad I barely paid attention. Hopefully next season picks up the from where this
season left off (in terms of quality), and improves from there.
Season 4 had way too much George/Izzy stuff, and it was horrible. It made both characters very unlikeable. Season 4 had more consistancy in it's "blah" quality. I liked some episodes and storylines, but a lot of things we're wrong. This season sometimes took a dip in quality to season 4 (the beginning), and then it improved over season 4 (the end). |

he was a hallucination. I guess she could just kill both characters off in one fell swoop but I think Izzie living and George dying is much more realistic.

And how many stupid episodes did they drag out this stupid storyline while listening to Shonda spin "It's not a brain tumor!" in the media! It should have been "one and done". |

I actually liked in the recent episodes when Izzie realized things were at their worst when she saw Denny. At least, for me, that was a feasible explanation
to him being there. All the shit that happened at the beginning of the season was just ridiculous.

^^^Burke selected him as the first intern to assist on a surgery. It was a tradition to select the most clueless intern so that he could be used as an example
for all the other interns as to who's boss in the OR. He was subsequently dubbed 007 when he killed his patient.
