picked this up at Border's. Never heard of the guy or the series before. This is the middle one so I need to read the first one and the new one. For all
Tudorphiles.
and next up:

Hollywood Station, by Joseph Wambaugh. It is in the style of his original cop books and very funny/snarky. I just finished The Brethern by John Grisham, a
really good, if older book.

The Time Traveler's Wife - if mentioned and loved, agreed. If not mentioned, get it. It is incredible

I just finished reading The Road by Cormac McCarthy and before that A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini. I love both
books.
I am about to start reading The Almond Picker by Simonetta Agnello Hornby. Trixiego, I loved The Time Traveler's Wife. I've found that it is one of those books that people tend to love or absolutely hate. |

Re-reading The Alienist by Caleb Carr.
Started reading Eat, Pray, Love. It's good, but could the author be any more whiny? She's travelling around the world on her publisher's dime. Are we supposed to feel sorry for her? |

Currently reading Forbidden Love: Gay and Lesbian life in the middle east
In the past few months, the books i really enjoyed were the ones by Dan Savage (the commitment, the kid, savage love), and a bunch of books by heathens (Ayan Hirsi's Infidel, God Delusion etc). Omg i was reading this one this morning and last evening ... altho i gave up on it after reading half of it - life in afghanistan doesn't really excite me much since i've seen it upclose and know it much better firsthand.

I'm reading Jodi Picoult, although it's very very low priority right now because I'm busy with school. |

I just finished reading "The Hunt for Red October" the other day. I now have "Galapagos" by Kurt Vonnegut and "Zodiac" by Robert
Graysmith sitting on my shelf waiting to be read. Does anyone have a suggestion for which one I tackle first?

I liked "The Time Traveler's Wife" and I also liked the Laurell K. Hamilton vampire hunter series.
I recently read "Thunderhead" and "Brimstone" by Douglas Preston & Lincoln Child. I really liked "Thunderhead". I'm going to go back and read the series from the beginning. I just got Relic and I'll be starting that today. |

Are we supposed to feel sorry for her?Fucking A, exactly. That woman is a horrid whiny bore. Am I the only one that didn't think Water for Elephants was anything great? I'm currently reading "Africa: Biography of a Continent". Just finished "Rise and Shine" by Anna Quindlen, twas pretty good. |

Piers Anthony? Doesn't he write those corny novels with bad puns in them?
If you want a really good sci-fi novel, try Altered Carbon by Richard Morgan. It's like Blade Runner crossed with a hardboiled detective novel. Non-stop action. |

yeah, he wrote those myth books.
I've read a lot of the Laurel Hamilton books, but I prefer the Dhamphir series by the Hendees |

I read Song of Soloman and I will never read another Toni Morrison book. It was painful and in the end pointless.
Just finished "The Girls" by Lori Lansen. Story about twins conjoined at the head. Pretty interesting. |

I had to read "Song of Solomon" and "Beloved" in high school. They were okay, but without a study guide, I might not have made it through.
They aren't easy to read.
I read "Infidel" last month and LOVED it. I totally recommend it. Just reread "Watership Down" and enjoyed it more than I did the first time. I picked up "Opening Skinner's Box" by Lauren Slater and "Aloft" by Chang-Rae Lee from the library today. |
