Ooh, glad to hear that's a good one, dmb. It's on my list.

For all you scifi/fantasy fans if you haven't read the Cold Fire Trilogy by CS Friedman I suggest you pick it up.
Probably one of the best series I have ever read in the genre. I am not currently reading anything. Too many new shows to watch and old stuff to download. I should get myself to a book store soon though before my brain turns to mush. |

Lord, how I hated Beloved. If that makes me a Philistine, so be it. Why are difficult books so often praised the most by critics? They don't
connect with me on any visceral level. They don't entertain me. They are just boring.
I'm about to start a Janis Joplin bio and next up is Middlesex (and after reading the "overrated book" thread a while back, I'm a little worried about that choice). |

AMT, I'm in the same boat. "The Emperor's Children" is an example--copious critical praise and all I can say is that.book.sucked.
And don't EVEN get me started on Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell or whatever the hell that flaming turd was called. Thanks dmb. I'm gonna need a good book for a plane ride, maybe I'll save it for that. |

All the Feist books.
They aren't great, but they also suck less than most fantasy. I kind of like Pug. Also I can read like one book a day, which makes me feel good about myself. |

read all the Feist books and I'd forgotten the Friedman books, I have book one and didn't realize it was a series

Anybody know where I can pick up Michael Moorcock's Eleric series without have to buy used books with boogers smeared in them off of eBay?

amazon? search on moorcock and elric, then hit the condition new option. I found 52 books that fit those conditions

I prefer the "slightly boogered" discount.

I'll try that.

I tried to read the Elric series (saying Michale Moorcock always made me giggle though) and I really didn't care for it.

Just go into B&N and tell the clerk, "I need some Moorcock".
