I seriously love the new commercial. It's all kinds of hot.

Agreed JRobbed. CTV should post a good version of the vid on youtube, I am sure they wont be running the full 1 minute advert frequently on their network, and
it would be great advertising for them for the upcoming show.
I am hoping the person who choreographed the commercial will be one of the choreographers for the show. I can not believe I actually have a connection to someone who is supposedly on the show. Well, it is 3 degrees of separation, but whatev, still my first authentic spoiler for a show. |

Oh no why does canada need a version of all of our shows? cant they just live with watching what they can never have?

Jennabridges18 wrote: I guess your comment would have some validity, if it weren't for the fact that most of the US shows are copies of shows from other countries. So why
does the US need versions of other original programming like Survivor, Idol, Big Brother, Got Talent, Wipeout etc...
The original reality show US shows usually ends up with a brainless idea, like wife-swapping, or midget marrying, or a dating a pseudo bisexual celebrity. You can have those shows, consider Canada is sharing a worldwide phenomenon of an idea, not an American one. (the only original US reality show I would give you is TAR, but even then it is a dutch man and his wife who came up with the idea)

I am hoping the person who choreographed the commercial will be one of the choreographers for the show. Stupid Blake is the one who choreographed it. While he is good as what he does, he is totally insufferable. And yes, he will be on the show. |

A friend of a friend found these pictures from the SYTYCD commercial. Some great shots from that commercial. As indicated above, Blake is a dickwad, but he is
a solid dancer and looks to be a decent choreographer.
From the first SYTYCD Canada commercial: Any potential competitors???

I guess this is official:
The first set of cross-country tryouts, from the very best to the
downright worst, will kick off the series debut in Canada. The broadcast
schedule unfolds as follows before So You Think You Can Dance Canada settles
into its regular Wednesdays at 8 p.m. time-slot (all times ET; times and dates
subject to change; go to ctv.ca to confirm local broadcast times):
<<
- Thursday, September 11 at 8 p.m. ET (two hours) - Toronto Auditions
- Sunday, September 14 at 8 p.m. ET (two hours) - Vancouver and
Halifax Auditions
- Wednesday, September 17 at 8 p.m. ET (two hours) - Montreal and
Calgary Auditions

Another show regional voting, tweentards, and especially KKKanada/MANada can destroy.

Hey Lizzo.. thanks for the information.
Here is the heading paragraph to the article on CTV: DAMN! It will be up against Survivor here! I guess it is time to get my HDPVR so I can record two shows when I am at work. I actually think this should be on-par with Australia or the US version. It couldn't be worse than this past season of US version. |

It's against Survivor? Eh, I'll just watch the reruns on Much Music.

Seems odd that they'd show the auditions out of order. Wasn't Vancouver first and Toronto last?
Is the Thursday airing just for auditions or are they really going to schedule it up against Survivor? SYTYCD 4 was a huge success ratings wise up here, but so is Survivor when it's on. CTV must know something about the demos that tells them the people who aren't watching Survivor were watching SYTYCD 4 and vice versa otherwise they're just turning a surefire hit into a Survivor casualty. |

Actually, I think I might have it wrong. I assumed that with the first show on Thursday, the series would all be on Thursday. In fact the first 3 shows are Th,
Su and Wednesday. So not sure how the schedule will pan out, and the article states the full schedule will be announced later.

Well, the article does say that it will settle into a Wednesday time slot. Do they change broadcast days a lot on CTV?

Wednesday works for me much better.

That last picture is the kidrobot room at CIRCA in Toronto. That guy in front looks like a douche.

Wednesday is a good day for this show, but will it be Thursday for results show?
We have the hottest judge of all the shows with Tre! I hope she is a fair and interesting commentator.
I think I might grow tired of Jean Marc every week though. and Leah??.. we will have to wait and see how she works out (there will never be another Cat)
|

I think she'll be a fine hostess. True, Cat sets the bar and everyone else can only dream of reaching it.
But Leah has just enough of a dance background to love and respect the dancers and to know she's not at their level. Her personality seems fine to me, if you can get past her face being kinda weird and botoxy. |

Spoiler (possible) alert ahead...
From a friend of a friend, this fellow apparently makes it some distance into the competition. His name is Scott Augustine and looks like a hottie, and is apparently a very very nice guy! Here's hoping
and he is the fellow in this shot
Kind of has Travis look to him. Of course he is apparently saying nothing to his friends but they are aware he tried and they seem to think he makes it. (top 20?)

Leah sucks, she will be an awful and terribly annoying host.
Don't get your hopes up about this show. I'm sure there will be a great crop of dancers but the Canadian voters will ruin it just like they do Canadian Idol. |

^ This year's shitastic judging and asshole voting on the American version of SYTYCD made me bitter, so maybe I'll be in the right frame of mind to
deal with the Canadian version. I might turn completely hateful, but ah well.
