On the DVD's, they talk about how basically it took them almost 3 years to shoot 18 episodes. The network jerked them around so much, they never knew when
they would be working, and that in the end, they were kind of glad ABC finally just straight-up canceled them, because the network was already killing them
slowly by moving the show around, putting production on hiatus, and all that stuff. I think they were all kind of sick of the game by then. I can't blame
Claire Danes for just being over it all and wanting to find work she could rely on as opposed to "MAYBE, in 6 more months, we MIGHT need you back."

Maybe Claire Danes didn't want to be type-cast, which looking back was a good move for her.Yeah, if she stayed, she may've been type-cast as the best actress on tv EVER. Okay, I know that's not what you meant. But I think Meggie's right, she was tired of the network back & forth, and was probably getting some good movie offers by then. It's just that as Angela, she had such a huge range of acting skills she could display, not a limiting part at all as far as tv goes, that if the network hadn't jerked her around, I'm guessing she would have stayed on the show longer. Anyone think she has been as good since, in her other roles? And thanks to Nun for those pics. I love seeing the actors now. (no Jeff Perry - drama teacher, lol? I've seen him on stage - he looks the same). |

I liked her as Beth in Little Women. A lot.
This show is even better for what it could have been anyway. If it had dragged on for season after season we probably wouldn't savor the moments that we have now. I can understand Claire not wanting to be constrained by this character (all other network drama aside) as it was also kind of dated. I'm trying to think of something to relate it to but it's like something that only a certain generation really truly gets. If it crossed passed generation x it would probably not translate as well and then you start having to introduce new characters, etc. Like Degrassi in a way I guess but smarter. |

I guess you guys haven't seen Chapter 27. He gained 67 pounds for the role. I think the tighty whitey pics were for a magazine shoot. The whole movie is on
youtube, it's not that great though. The trailer makes it seem like Lindsay has a big role, but she's not in it that much, thankfully.

They really did nail it with fat Leto - his resemblance to Chapman was freaky.  
But Chapman looks totally different now that he's an old man. His wife is still married to him. Yuck!

This was THE show for me back in HS.
I need to get this new box-set and relive it again. I tried to get so many of my friends into this show, but they weren't interested in a "teen girl drama" It really was one of the best written shows ever, and even though it never went on, looking back, the one season we did get ended REALLY well. Maybe not the way we wanted or without questions, but damn, that was a GREAT ending. I will always love this show, and I HATED how it became extremely popular on MTV after the end. It got my hopes up and it never returned.

Yeah, Chapter 27 was doomed to fail. Even if it had a better script, I don't think that any movie about John Lennon's killer would be a success and
Lindsay Lohan is box office poison. I think Jared did a pretty good job in it, all things considered. It seems like he should've been a bigger movie
star, he really does have talent and he's gorgeous. Maybe he's too much of a dick on set? I think his band really sucks. He should stick to
acting.

Yeah, good theories. Probably either he's draining his energies with the band, or he has an attitude problem. Or both. Cause I agree, he seems or seemed
tailor-made for stardom. Although in the before pictures you show, he looks like he might be a bit of a case.
I think that most of the MSCL actors did their best work on that series. |

Danes should have pushed for the show to go on, her wanting to leave was not the greatest move she has made, s it's not like she became the next Meryll
Streep. The pregnant pix of AJ Langer are disgusting (I know most pics of preg women are) as were the pix of Ricky and his boys - could have done without
seeing them. The whole series is on hulu.com, good quality too and free.

She's made 25 films since the show ended and though they're not all blockbusters she's definitely a household name now.
