She was a tragedy to music and singing. Absolutely horrible voice/tone and no technical talent either. Dear lord, that girl makes Sanjaya look like Kelly Clarkson. I will give her credit for leading me to get interested in Marit Larsen's solo career because she sang "Don't Save Me" (HIDEOUSLY BAD BTW) on the show.

However, it turns out that she was on the same season as Siri Helene, so I didn't like her enough for her to be my favorite. Then I looked at her song list and realized I only liked one of her performance and that was Nine Million Bicycles. And then I finally realized the main reason I loved her was cause when she dropped out Siri Helene came back which was the main reason for my love. So you can't really kill me all that much for this one.

Some interesting choices tonight! Let's get started! 1. Marius Barhaugen - "Fly Away" by Lenny Kravitz My response: Decent vocals. He looked good. It was all a little too much though. It bordered on karaoke. 2. Åste Hunnes Sem - "Calling You" by Jevetta Steele My response: CHILLS CHILLS CHILLS! I loved it from start to finish. She started out nice and understated and she really built it up! She didn't sound shouty at all and she just has this presence! Love her! 3. Linnea Dale - "So Alive" by Ryan Adams� (They switched Linnea and Glenn in the performance order which I didn't think was very fair because Linnea has been going 4th or 3rd every week). My response: Wow... I actually really liked this. WHOA MANVOICE though! I liked it the most when she belted out the chorus. Her tone sounded so good. I do have to admit that the performance was lacking the entertainment factor. She jammed in one spot the entire time. I expected more movement from her considering the way she moved last week. However, I liked the vocal aspect of the performance. 4 Kim Rune Hagen - "Living on a Prayer" by Bon Jovi My response: What a voice for a 17 year-old. HE'S ONLY 17 DAWG! I also like what he did with the song. The slow-down was nice and really showcased his vocals. He's gonna sail through to the top 3. 5. Timian Ripnes Nastaad - "Beauty of my Mind" by Timian Ripnes Nastaad (an original song) My response: Timian wasn't atrocious like her normally is! He'll never hold a candle to any of the others, but he's marketable to the tweens. This performance was at least listenable and I kind of liked the song. 6. Glenn Lyse - "You Know My Name" by Chris Cornell My response: He started out strong... The performance was average... Until that horrible SCREAM at the end! Oh god, that was offensive to my ears. 7. Linda Steen - "Don't Speak" by No Doubt My response: A few rough notes at the beginning but she really pulled it together. She dressed well and was styled much better this week. A really strong finish though! Good for Linda. 8. Bjørn Johan Muri - "New Shoes" by Paolo Nutini My response: Bjorn Johan is quickly making a name for himself in this competition. I still find him the most forgettable of all of them, but he's been pretty consistent so far. This was a strong vocal performance. He still needs to work on getting comfortable with the stage. He kind of wanders around aimlessly. Good singer though. Overall, I think this was a strong night. Even the weaker contestants weren't terrible. My ranking of the top 8 show: 1. Aste (Again! <333) 2. Kim Rune (Again!) 3. Linda 4. Bjorn Johan 5. Linnea 6. Glenn 7. Timian 8. Marius The Verdict: Spoiler [+] Bottom 3: Linnea, Timian, and Marius Eliminated: Marius Well, there goes the eye candy. Posts: 2489 (11/11/07 9:03 AM) Registered User Reply Quote More Recent Posts Message Connection Block Invite	Even when Åste sings something more subtle, she blows me away. <3 I agree that Åste, Kim, and Linda were the best, and I think they should be the Top 3 in the end. I think Linnea sucks. Even when she's not singing in that horrid manvoice, she still sounds croaky and like something's stuck down her throat. In this performance, she reminded me of that chick who was first kicked off CI this year (Maud?) but with an even worse voice. I even get shades of Iselin from Linnea. shudder The Purple Parrot wrote: Who were you rooting for that season? I prefer Aleks just slightly more, and I think he's the best winner this show has had (sorry Kurt fans). And I rarely ever have males as my favorite, so that's saying something. I think he should lay off the mullet look though. My season 2 favorite was Ahn, and I stopped watching after her boot (must the Asian girl always be voted off first? Chowmarosa).

Kjartan was good, too! :D Aleks is freaking phenomenal. Vivian had a few big mistake performances while Aleks was just perfect the entire time. What a stunning vocalist! He's just so good. The only bad thing about him is his hair... Ick. That mullet has to go. I also get shades of Iselin from Linnea. They do sound similar, but I think Linnea's voice is far superior (although nothing that great and I don't expect her to last much longer).

I thought this week was pretty terrible for everyone. Only Kim seemed to do really well. I put three others as "good": Aste, Glenn & Marius. The rest were, imo, different degrees of terrible. The other three that I liked were Aste (I expected too much, I'm afraid), Marius and Glenn. But wasn't excited about anyone this week. But that's ok, there are weeks like that. My 2 faves are still there. :)

Ok, so the person who usually uploads the performances on youtube is being really slow this week so someone else uploaded them, but they are way worse quality... Whatcha gonna do? Oh well. 1. Kim Rune Hagen - "Summer Moved On" My response: Some of the high notes were really rough. I know he's still sick and I know he's trying really hard, but it was just alright. I hope he gets better soon. 2. Timian Ripnes Nastaad - "Crying in the Rain" My response: For Timian, it wasn't too terrible. It's sad that he has to be judged on a lower level than the rest... but he is an ok singer, just not good enough. When compared to the others, this was pretty terrible. I hated the way he held the mic up, too. I know that sounds insignificant, but it looked so forced. 3. Aste Hunnes Sem - "Hunting High and Low" My response: This was probably Aste's worst so far, but it was still alright. I don't really like the song, but I liked the part where the whole band came in and she really got into it. On a side note, the camera spun around her for like the first 45 seconds of the performance. It was making me dizzy... 4. Bjorn Johan Muri - "Birthright" My response: Haha, he cracks right in the beginning! Other than the crack, this performance is so boring and unexciting that it put me in a coma. It was seriously bland. 5. Linnea Dale - "Velvet" My response: I think some guy from season 3 sang this song, too, but he was unimportant. I actually really liked Linnea's tone on this song. It was pleasant and enjoyable. Nothing to write home about, but I liked it. Also, I can't get over how beautiful she is. IMO, she's the 3rd most beautiful Idol contestant ever right behind Amali Ward and Tone Damli Aaberge. 6. Linda Steen - "Stay on These Roads" My response: I LOVE LINDA! This was sooooooooo good! I did notice that she was sharp on the first "MY LOOOOVE" notes, but it didn't bother me very much. I thought she really got into it and her voice seriously cut through. Her tone is so beautiful. I'm not sure if this is a good thing or not, but I thought she sorta looked like Jessica Sierra this week. 7. Glenn Lyse - "The Sun Always Shines on TV" My response: The Glenn I used to love is back in action! This was a great great great performance! The big, long notes were awesome! He really rocked it and I think this was his best performance. Sorry for the vid quality.... it's pretty bad. Overall I thought this was an average night with Glenn and Linda as the standouts. No one was really really horribly terrible either, but... I'd rather someone be terrible than boringly average. My ranking of the top 7 show: 1. Glenn 2. Linda 3. Kim Rune 4. Aste 5. Linnea 6. Bjorn Johan 7. Timian The Verdict: OMG OMG OMG! Top 7 results are always screwy no matter what country it is! I hope nothing crazy happened! Spoiler [+] Bottom 3: Timian, Linda, Linnea Bottom 2: Linda and Linnea (WTF! LINDA! NOOOOOOOOO!) LOUIEDEATHWATCH! Eliminated: Linnea phew Wow, close call for Linda. That could have been catastrophic. I will miss Linnea though. I enjoyed the uniqueness that she brought to the show. Her tone was usually always pleasant. I still would have preferred if Timian was eliminated instead... If anyone cares, I also found out who the bottom 2 contestants were for the other shows. Top 10: didn't even have a bottom 3, just eliminated Anne on the spot. Top 9: Bottom 2 was Isabella and Marius Top 8: Bottom 2 was Marius and Timian (Holy shit, Marius's hair was so terrible. He like shaved the sides and left it all long and mullety-looking... so hideous).

As I was watching each performance I kept hoping someone would sing my favorite A-ha song, "The Sun Always Shines on TV". And Glenn did! And did it very well. I really thought Kim was the best again. I think he's fantastic and I think he should win. Aste was good, not great. The rest of them, meh. I'm not getting this Linda love at all. I thought she was sharp throughout most of her performance. Timian is a freak and of course, like every country, won't go anywhere for awhile. My guess is the bottom three were: Linnea, Aste & Bjorn. With Linnea going. Off to look. Not to mention, I don't think any of them have the range to pull that off...that's a pretty difficult song to sing.
