I tried sending apples to all my neighbors in the hopes that maybe they'd get the hint and trade me for another fruit but they gave me furniture instead. I should try actually requesting a coconut next time.

p.s. does your house look any different on the outside when you do the final upgrade (the basement)? I like the way my house looks now with the 2 stories and I really dont wanna shell out 570,000 bells or whatever for just a basement that you cant even decorate. Why dont they let you have side rooms anymore like in the DS version? boooo

i heard that you should write and ask your neighbors for 'fruit' and not specify which kind and eventually you'll get it all. when you ask for oranges or whatever they dont seem to understand

the only difference from the outside when you get the basement is that you have a flag. its the nook leaf design on the background of your house's original roof color. you can change it to anything from your design page. you absolutely can decorate the basement just like the upper rooms. there really is no reason to pay the final mortgage, except there's not a lot to do with your money at that point anyway. my mortgage is paid and i have over a million and a half in the bank

the golden axe is a bitch to get. the easiest part is contributing 400 or 500K to the town fund and getting a fountain built. every day i buy the plain axe from Nook and throw it into the fountain. most days i dont get it back from serena the fountain bitch-godess. if you do get it back, another character can throw it in and most likely they wont get it back. my son finally scored a gold axe after months of trying. but our other 3 players have not yet gotten it yet
