She even said that she wished she looked like them. I wonder about the relationships with Jon's and Kate's parents - the lack of involvement in their lives is pretty obvious except for Jon's Korean 'Gammy'. Was it ever talked about in an episode that I missed? Sometimes Kate's attitude is grating and shrill. But if she wasn't so anally organized and forceful, it would be utter chaos, even with laundry and cleaning help. I think her choices of what to get help with are good - she gets help with the manual labor and spends more time with her kids, rather than pawning the kids off on a sitter or someone to take them outside while she cleans. I had a fraction of the number of kids as she has and had involvement of family and still had days that I wanted to run away! I saw the epi where everyone had the flu - ferchristsake!!! I couldn't live with her but, hat's off to her, I couldn't live her life either!

My sister, being "single city girl" totally just thinks everything is cute. My mom called me after watching the Disney ep last night (and she likes everyone, so it seems) and had to say what a spoiled bitch Kate was. She has so much to be thankful for, and it grates my nerves that she doesn't seem to appreciate it. She couldn't do half the stuff they do without TLC's money...and I'm totally sick of some people that have multiples via fertility acting like they deserve help. I think IVF and fertility drugs are wonderful for people who cannot conceive naturally, but you can't truly complain when you know the odds are better than not that you'll have multiples. Be thankful you have healthy, beautiful children.

Supposedly, they have to watch their budget carefully to afford food and a roof over their heads yet they have special outfits for holidays (4th of July? Who dresses their kids in 8 matching 4th outfits?) and special occasions. Obviously, they are subsidized to the max. If you had 8 kids (and who would) you have to be making some serious coin to afford new matching outfits for Columbus Day. Real pony rides at the carnival? Ugg boots for kids who are at an age when their shoe sizes change monthly? Kate is a miserable bitch and I wish Jon would tell her to fuck off. Yesterday during the marathon the running undercurrent was that Kate wanted Jon to be all hot again like he used to be....for what?

I watched the marathon yesterday even though I've seen each episode like 5 times already. The new episode with Aidan saying he's a superhero when his plastic bib was flying in the wind was the cutest thing ever. Is it me or does Jon looks less miserable in recent episodes? I guess free vacations, losing some weight and having hair plugs has done wonders for him. I don't have a problem Jon and Kate enjoying their celebrity or privileges that comes with being on television. If I were in their position with 8 children to care for and chose to put my personal life on display, I'd take advantage all the freebies I could get until the well runs dry as well. Does anyone know how much Jon and Kate are being paid to do this show?

I realize she is a kid but it seems like whenever jon , kate and the kids are having fun, mady throws a fit and ruins it. She has a horrible personality. There was a recent episode where they were the kids were putting on a dressup/fashion show and mady flipped out and ripped off her custom. Up until that happened all the kids and both jon and kate were having a great time. Mady totally runied it. kate said in an episode taht mady was embarrassed when she saw herself hitting collin in an episode. If I were her id be more embarrassed at my classmates seing me crying and acting so immature on television. Kate can be a bitch, but she can also be really nice! In addtion to that Jon doesnt always answer very nicely. One thing I have to mention about jon that i think is hilarious, is the faces he makes at the kids. In the dress-up episode, mady was being a smartmouth and when she turned around he mimicked her. It was hilarious! He also mimicks joel alot but its obvious joel is his buddy. Collin is my favorite, followed by Joel. They say wicked funny things. The girls are boring as is aaden but there nice likeable kids atleast.

I pretty much like them all, especially Mady, Alexis and Aedan. Sure Mady can be a brat but she's a little kid, even though she speaks like an adult sometimes. Some of the words she uses I didn't know til I was ten. I can't imagine what it would be like to have my world turned upside down at the age of 4.

We always see them disciplining the sextuplets by using timeout but they never discipline the twins. If anything it seems like Jon and Kate pacify the twins when they act up instead of dealing with the root of why they're acting out in the first place. Mady always receives a bad rap for her behavior but Cara has her moments too.

Absolutely true. And the exact same thing can be said for Kate and Jon. Kate gets crucified for her behavior, but there are plenty of times Jon acts just as badly and he is given a complete pass. I love both Jon & Kate though, and think for their situation they do a great job. Collin cracks me up out of the kids the most...and I like Alexis with her aldergater obsession.

Lots of signage relating to chocolate and such. Kate may be a bit of a shrill, but it certainly doesn't seem to bother Jon much. He just makes those funny faces and lets Kate go on and on. I like these guys better than the Roloffs.

Is Gosselin really his birth last name? Or did he take Kate's name? Or is he adopted? Or is he of mixed heritage? I'm not sure. I've only seen this show intermittently. All I can tell is that in watching this, I am reminded of what Susan Powter said on VH1's I Love The 90s, re the McCaughey septuplets: "They didn't have seven babies. SCIENCE had seven babies for them!" Okay, Jon and Kate have eight kids, six of whom came in one fell swoop, but you get the picture.

Be thankful you have healthy, beautiful children. Kate has said that in many exit interviews. They are lucky that all six kids don't have any serious problems. She probably figured after the twins she might have another set of twins or one. There were actually seven when they did the ultrasound. The doctor wanted them to do a reduction but they didn't believe in it. I really can't blame Mady for her behavior. She was one of the lights of her parents eyes for four years and had her world turned upside down with six new babies and she's still a little girl herself. Cara has moments, too. They all do. Kate has said many times in the interviews that they don't always have time to be nice when they're policing eight kids in public by themselves. She said when they were in the pumpkin patch it was amazing how many people would try to cut in between them holding the kids' hands. My father and I were walking my 87 year old, frail, unsteady mother to my niece's recital. I was holding the door open and a father and his three kids zoomed by my mother and one of the kids almost knocked her over. I said, "Nice, why don't you take out the old lady while you're at it." He said he gave her plenty of room. I wasn't holding the door for him or his kids. Then my father started. Yea, it was a male and female Kate duo. Luckily my mother had no clue what was going on. You think people would be kinder if there are old people or babies trying to walk around.

When one takes fertility drugs (and I have) it is incumbent upon the doctor to measure everything every step of the way. This includes counting how many follicles are ovulating once the trigger for the cycle is administered. There is no way in hell a responsible doctor who had really seen the ultrasound of Kate's 6+ ripe follicles would have let that cycle continue with insemination. It simply isn't done because of the possible tragic consequences. This leads me to believe that her doctor did not in fact do an ultrasound before ovulation and count the ripe follicles, but just continued with the insemination and the cycle. This is criminal. It seems that they know how lucky they are to have seemingly healthy, normal and happy children. But reduction should never have been an issue, and 6 babies should never have been an issue because they should have tried again the next month. Of course, it's difficult to do this in an emotional and monetary way, but that's part of the process. You don't play games with fertility. We've talked about this here before - I guess I'm close to the issue, and therefore have a very strong opinion. A few others here have been through the same process....

You just don't IUI without a sonogram, fertility drugs or not. And Kate has said that they did use fertility drugs. IUI = insemination
